All Those Birthday Shirts

I’m saving all of Connor’s birthday shirts.  It’s just one of those things that I just can’t get rid of.  But what do you do with all of those?

I think when he gets older I’m going to have all his shirts made into a quilt.  I know he won’t be wearing the cute appliqued shirts forever, but he will for awhile…..

I want to have a t-shirt quilt made with all of them like this one on Sew Caroline.

What do you think?

Too overkill???….I just can’t get rid of them 🙂

Five on Friday

This week has seriously flown by.  I’m excited about helping a dear friend plan a shower for her baby girl tomorrow!  Yay!  It’s been a long week, but short in other areas….you know how that is?

I went to pick up Connor from school yesterday and he shoved a kid.  That’s all I saw.  He pushed him to the ground and I don’t know what happened before that…but seriously???  It’s just awful and it hurts my heart.  We had a long talk about it and I know he knows what he did was wrong, but still, why did he do that?

Overall, he’s a really good kid and he doesn’t behave like that at home so I’m wondering what happened?

Okay so on a positive note, here are FIVE things I’m loving this week (or missing) and I’m linking up with Five for Friday Link-Up.

This bruschetta I had while visiting Arkansas and dining with my friends.

I’m still dreaming about it.  So good!IMG_20130526_140535Also this dessert.  I’m going to try this at home.IMG_20130526_151226Memories made with best friends…IMG_20130526_203352Friends that will babysit your kid on a last minute’s notice.

They love him so much and he has been talking about them all week.  So blessed.IMG_20130601_140440It’s FRIDAY so I splurged on Starbucks. Gulp.

I wish a Seattles Best was a bit closer to my work, but I’m sure they are getting there 🙂IMG_20130607_090428New bloggy business cards.

I ordered these from Overnight Prints and they did a bangin job.

I realized when I went to Blissdom I had nothing on mine except my name, email, and blog address.

Apparently I also needed to include all social sites…so I’m thrilled with how these turned out!IMG_20130607_090608My big boy is growing up 🙂PicMonkey Collagezz

Weekend Wrap-Up

We had a pretty chill weekend.  Terence and I have started watching a show called “The Killing” on Netflix.  My Mom recommended it.  It’s a really good mystery and crime drama.  Season 3 premiered last night and I am recording that on DVR.

Saturday morning I woke up and went to a photo shoot for the Fort Worth Mom Blog’s new site.  I’m so excited to be a contributor to their website, all the girls were so nice.  If you haven’t checked it out you can find it HERE.

I’m hating my hair right now.  It’s so hard to remain patient and let it grow out.  It’s not growing out pretty either….UGH.  My sister gave me some stuff for my hair and I am LOVING it.  It’s called “It’s a 10 Miracle Leave in + Keratin” I can definitely tell a difference in my hair lately.

Speaking of hair…this little guy got his fro cut this weekend.  I told her to go easy.  I am a tad bit attached to those curls and I didn’t want them all chopped off!  395313_10152873625555125_1205967317_n

He just LOVES going to school and that makes my heart so happy.  He’s always talking about his friends and doing fun crafts….my baby boy is growing up!550336_10152772101545125_1117336640_n 248385_10152823418655125_2003389601_n

We also attended the wedding of Terence’s cousin Macy & her husband Matt….it was such a beautiful wedding!!!482577_10152870473140125_1857519835_n

My Birchbox left something to be desired….the Cargo blush came all crumbled up and was completely ruined.  They were nice enough to credit my account 100 points.  I was so disappointed though 🙁934070_10152817645090125_2131191375_n

Some may not know, but my Nannie has had a pretty rough year this year.  She was diagnosed with cancer and just finished her treatments not too long ago.  She seems to be doing much better and the Doctor’s can’t find any sign of cancer right now….praise the Lord!  Let’s hope this continues and Nannie lives a LONG and healthy life.  I can’t imagine not having her in mine.  If there was one person on this Earth I could wish to be like….it would be her.  There is none like her and there never will be.  She is the best.  That is all.  THE BEST.

I don’t get home as much as I’d like that’s for sure.  Terence and I are working a lot and only get so much vacation.  This makes the times we do get to spend together so special.  On Thursday after work Terence and I drove my new car (yes-I got a new car!).  We had to put the Avalon down after 11 years, she was sooooo good to us!  We ended up buying a Hyundai Sonata & so far I’m really liking it.  We drove the whole trip and didn’t have to fill up until we got to Arkansas.  Amazing gas mileage!

So we got in late Thursday, oh, and about 5 hours into our trip we realized we forgot basically all of our clothing.  We had fold up clothes and undies….but yup…..no clothes!  So the next day we drove to Little Rock to meet my sister.  We visited with Bonnie, Jarrett, and Vinny for  awhile and then went back to Conway.

Later that evening Mom & Dad took us out or a birthday dinner at Marketplace Grill.  YUM.

Saturday we woke up early and drove to Nannie’s house.  I love the farm.  It’s the one place I consider constant in my life and so many wonderful memories have been made on the farm.  There’s no place like it.  It’s nice to get away from the city and soak up the fresh air and see stars in the sky.  Nannie fed us chicken and dumplings, fried squash, fried taters, roast, and so many other fixens I can’t even remember!

We decorated Papa’s grave for Memorial Day:

Throw Back Thursday {Link-Up}

This little nugget makes my heart swell….and my ovaries.  I can’t believe how fast the past few years have flown by.  Everyone tells you that.  They say enjoy every minute because the time will go by so fast.  When you are in the midst of sleepless nights, feedings, and spit up you some how forget to take that advice.

But then a few years go by and somehow you’ve forgotten all that biz?  Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about having another child.  I swore up and down that I wouldn’t even consider it.  Especially not anytime soon……

But….he’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever done.  He’s the ultimate gift God has ever given to me.  When the time is right and maybe if/when our hearts change for another dumpling.  Lord willing….before my ovaries are prunes…..just maybe we’ll have another???
