Five on Friday

1. I made some FREE Valentine’s Day printables. Just click on the picture to make it bigger and print! Most of y’all don’t know this…but before I got married I was in school for graphic design. I’m a very right-brained OCD person. It’s has good and bad traits…but I love letting my creativity flow.  So, for the next few weeks I’ll be making some printables and you can use them at your leisure for cupcake toppers or just little taggies.valentinelabels2.  I am trying to think of fun things to write on our chalkboard. I’d love to take a calligraphy class to improve my handwriting skills. But for now i just doodle around…D7K_35103.  Connor boy has been practicing riding his bike more. I am glad we invested in the balance bike without peddles for him to start out on. It’s been great and he’s gotten a lot faster and his balance has gotten better too! Weekend Wrap Up

We had a very laid back and relaxed weekend.  It’s so nice to get back into a routine.  As much as I love the hustle and bustle of the holidays….it’s nice to get back to normal.  Also hoping to eat a little cleaner too 😉

Saturday Connor and I met our good friends Sarah and baby Ellie at the mall in Frisco.  We mall walked, had coffee talk, and hit up Godiva for some chocolate.  I also scored some great clearance deals at Pottery Barn Kids.  I just love that store, but everything is so expensive!

Sunday we woke up and went to early service at church.  Did our grocery shopping and prepped food for the week.  Connor and I took naps ( Amen & Amen)  My husband never takes naps….he’s just not a napper and he can’t stand it when we nap ha ha!  I have no problem napping 😛

I’m working on getting my photography site up….but I keep screwing things around in WordPress so I’m going to have to fix that some how.  Anyone know a good, cheap WordPress (photo site) designer?

Here’s my cuddler in his Valentines day pajamas…I know Christmas is just now over, but I just love Valentines day too.  We are in the process of finding Connor another preschool because I’m transferring to a job closer to my house (same company) and I’m sure we’ll find something.  It’s bittersweet leaving our beloved ELC teachers and staff.  They have been wonderful!

D7K_3438 Some photos of my booger….I know I know….D7K_3484 D7K_3491 D7K_3490 His Jake spyglass he got for ChristmasD7K_3293 Sarah and sweet baby EllieD7K_3496Godiva goodness….I’m SO SO SO upset they discontinued my favorite truffle EVER.  The extra extra dark chocolate truffle has been discontinued.  Now what am I going to get for Valentines day this year???  Darn you Godiva!!!! New Years Eve 2013

We didn’t do too much on New Years Eve.  We are still in recovery mode and trying to get better from the sickies.  I spent NYE with my boys and a redonkulous piece of tiramisu and a glass of wine.  Terence rented some movies from RedBox and that’s pretty much how we party these days.  Ha ha!

RedBox is so much cheaper than going to the theater.  We are going to have a lot of transitions this coming year, but no matter what we’ll always have each other to lean on and I’m excited for what the future holds.  One thing I’d like to do is have a date night with Terence more.  We seriously have not been on a date, just the two of us in over 6 months.  I miss spending time together as a couple.  We need to work on that part of our lives- keep that spark alive ya know?  Also become more involved in our church and make friends there.  We have worked very hard over the last year to pay off all our debt and as freeing as that is we want to continue to save. For someday when all this will pay off……it’s hard now, but I know in the long run it will be worth it.  Maybe one day I’ll even get stay home with my boy.  He’s probably the only baby I’m ever going to have.  Yes, I take too many photos…but he’ll have a well documented childhood right?  I can’t imagine not working.  I like to work.  It’s bittersweet on both ends, but rewarding in so many ways as well.  I’m there for all the important things and the social interaction he gets at school is wonderful.  He’s a bright and outgoing boy.  He’s never been clingy to us & I want him to be independent.
Like I said before I don’t really have any resolutions or goals this year.  I just want to do the best I can and have faith things will work out.  I’d like to grow my photography a little bit.  Continue blogging for fun and grow the friendships I have been blessed with.   Yada yada yada…I could go on and on…but so excited for this next year and all it has to hold!

Happy New Year 2014

Happy New Year to you!!!

This year I have no resolutions.  Every year I try to make them I set myself up for failure.  I don’t do well in a pressure cooker.  Instead I’m just going to put it all in God’s hands knowing that everything is exactly how it should be.  Sure, I need to make a lot of changes, but I also know I’m a child of God.  I sin.  My sin has already been forgiven.

Because of HIM I can face tomorrow.

May this new year be a blessing to each and every one of you!  I look forward to journaling and following everyone’s lives.  It’s amazing looking back at blogging over 7 years later & how everyone’s lives have changed.  It’s just the best thing ever.  I hope I don’t ever lose that…..the close connection.  It’s why I started this in the first place.  Even if you don’t blog anymore, at least we had the chance to cross paths and impact each other’s lives.  It’s been the greatest & I wish everyone all the best….may all your hopes & dreams be realized….if not this coming year….in the future.

My greatest blessing wishes you a Happy New Year too 🙂D7K_3463 D7K_3456 D7K_3466 D7K_3469

Texas Christmas (Not What I Imagined)

So, Connor is finally at the age where he understands Christmas and the joy and wonder are transparent in this little human being.  We had a great time in Arkansas, and we had more Christmas plans when we returned to Texas.  Unfortunately Connor got sick.  Like….really sick.  My sweet hubby stayed home with him on Thursday and Friday so I could get back to work.  Terence took him to the Doctor on Friday for an x-ray and breathing treatment.    He tested negative for the flu and strep.  I am not sure what he has, just that he’s congested and has a high fever.

Saturday morning I woke up feeling like poo.  The sickness hits our household hard at least once a year…..geesh.  I called Connor’s school and his teacher told me almost every kid was absent.  So something has got to be going around right?  All of that said our Christmas plans were not as we’d imagined, but we were together as a family and that’s the most important thing.  Connor got a new bike and some toys, Terence got me a new digital tablet I’d been wanting, and my sweet in-laws brought us some yummy food since we couldn’t be with them.

So, it may have not been the Christmas I’d imagined….but it was a blessing to be together & celebrate Jesus birth.

An Arkansas Christmas 2013

Last week Connor and I headed to Arkansas for an early Christmas with my Mom, Dad, sister, Nannie, and many family & friends.  Connor did great on the drive, he’s such a good little guy 🙂

We are so blessed to have the most beautiful place on Earth (in my opinion) to spend Christmas at.  Nannie and Papa’s farm will always hold a special place in our hearts.  So many memories over my lifetime were spent there and I hope Connor has the same wonderful memories.

It’s hard living away from your family and friends, but that just makes the times you do get together extra special.  Bonnie and I went out to dinner one night with our good friends from highschool.  Mom, Bonnie, and I spent a few girls days together shopping.  Then we headed to the farm for Christmas celebrations & Jarrett’s 4th birthday.

So, here are some pictures from the trip…there are lots…but I’d rather have too many than too little!

D7K_2837Twinkie love D7K_2831Bonnie and her FIANCE Vinny! Yay! Yes…that’s right Bonnie’s engaged!  I’m trying to get her back into blogging….we shall see!  Vinny gave her the most gorgeous ring.  Very excited and pray that God blesses this marriage. D7K_28281471978_10152056999090860_890560911_n D7K_2795 D7K_2788Bon and I taking pictures! D7K_2781Ready to open presents! D7K_2800 D7K_2810The boys and Nannie Sue

We’ve had a bout of sickness in our house.  Yesterday we were stuck in the house all day and Connor didn’t even want to open his presents poor little guy.  He’s been running a high fever and feeling awful.  I’ll recap on all that later….Hope you all had the best Christmas!!!  xoxo Becky
