Fall Weekend Wrap-Up

We had a fun weekend full of fall activities. Ahem…even though it was in the 90’s!!!  I had a couple of photo shoots that were a lot of fun and Connor and Terence went camping and roughed it Friday night.  They both came home and were like “It was WAY too hot to camp!”

The picture below is of a pumpkin carving contest in downtown Fort Worth.  We met my friend Diana there and it was a LOT of fun!  Nice to make the mess at some place else besides my house 😉  We carved none other than a Batman pumpkin.  Or I should say that I did….Connor wasn’t too keen on the insides of a pumpkin.

He did get his face painted like a blue Batman.  🙂20141026_142334 20141026_144302

On Saturday night we attended Trunk or Treat at Connor’s school.  I must be such a dumb dumb because I didn’t really understand what “Trunk or Treat” meant???  I thought it was going to be inside.  Then people started popping their trunks and decorating them.  We just brought a bowl of candy.  Oh well….the kiddos had fun and that’s all that matters!  Now I officially know what Trunk or Treat is though 😉

Below are some photos from “Trunk or Treat”:D7K_3971D7K_3989

Support OUR VETERAN HEROES™ BAND-AID® Brand #RunWithGlory

“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for BAND-AID® Brand. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.”

I’ve talked about our military experience before here on the blog.  When Terence and I first got married we were in the Air Force for a little over 5 years.  Those were probably some of the most trying years of our lives.  Not only were we newlyweds, but the month after we got married September 11th happened.  Our lives were forever changed.

I love supporting brands that support our military.  It’s a way I can show our troops we care.  BAND-AID® Brand recently launched OUR VETERAN HEROES™ BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages, featuring patriotic and military-inspired designs.  Being a part of the military comes with sacrifices and stressful situations, but builds positive relationships and pride.  Some of the best, life-long friends we’ve ever made have been the ones we made while in the military.  Those years taught us a lot and we grew closer through good times and bad.

Connor is always getting boo boos.  He’s a 4-year-old and constantly jumping and running around.  A BAND-AID is like a badge of honor…even if he doesn’t need one, it makes him feel better. It’s funny how the little things can make such a difference.   BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages are a staple in American households and have been involved in the U.S. Armed Forces since WWII when they provided first-aid products – but they understand that the needs of veteran communities go beyond just first aid.

D7K_3656

BAND-AID® Brand has partnered with Team Red, White & Blue to help enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their communities through physical and social activities.

BAND-AID® Brand is donating 5% of the sale price of each box sold to Team Red, White & Blue, available at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid.

BAND-AID® Brand is the presenting sponsor of the Team Red, White & Blue Old Glory Coast to Coast Relay.  Now through November 9, runners will carry an American flag 3,800 miles across the country to raise awareness and funds in support of veteran communities in America.  This is a great cause.  If you happen to be in any of the above stores this week remember to pick up a package of these special BAND-AIDS® to help support our veterans.

BAND-AID® Brand will further support Team Red, White & Blue during the Relay by donating $1.00 for each consumer message encouraging Relay runners and thanking veterans, up to $25,000.

Visit HERE and share your encouraging messages or use #RunWithGlory on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  It’s such an easy and simple action you can do in less than 5 minutes to help support this cause.  Check out the video below and remember we wouldn’t be FREE without those who served and the so many who gave their lives so that we can live freely.

Pumpkin Patch 2014

We took Connor to the pumpkin patch today.  He’s going with his class next week too, but I wanted to take him as well.  It would have been perfect if it felt like fall….sigh…

It was like 85 degrees out today and I’m walking around trying to embrace the pumpkins.  I really was…but it’s hard when you are getting pit stains because it’s so HOT.

I want to wear my boots and my cardigans aka “muffin top shield”.  Here’s hoping I can embrace that fall feeling a little more in the coming weeks.

Regardless we had a great day together and I took a long nap & it ended with Fuzzy’s tacos and an episode of Shark Tank.  Score!

Here are some photos of our pumpkin patch visit:

Friday Favorites, Fall, & Hoodies!

I’m linking up today with Momfessionals for Friday Favorites!  Can I just say how thankful I am for the rain last night and for a someone fall-ish day today?  If anyone texts me one more time and asks if I’m okay because Ebola is in DFW I may scream or just totally crack out on them.  WE. ARE. FINE.

I bought a turkey.  Connor and I have named him Mr. Gobblesworth.  I love this thing.  Even though it’s just a decoration I smile just looking at it on my counter.  Could we possibly have “Turkey on the Shelf”? D7K_2876My precious co-worker Wendy brought me back a Starbucks mug from the ORIGINAL Starbucks store in Seattle.  I work for the best company y’all and my co-workers and customers make every single day for me.  I am so blessed! D7K_2882Last Saturday I went over to my other co-worker Carolyn’s sister’s house and we had a “Pinterest crafting party”.  Basically you pick a craft from Pinterest and you all do it together at the party.  I made this big “B” and I am so happy with how it turned out!  I haven’t crafted in a long time…but I’ve always been a creative spirit.  I also have a new-found love for liquid gold leaf.  It’s awesome and you can antique or put gold on anything!  I got mine at Hobby Lobby. D7K_2923I took some pictures of my snuggle muffin yesterday.  We won some cute clothes from a blog giveaway from Ruum clothing.   So you know me I look for any excuse for a photo shoot.

Here are some shots I took below:

Not sure why the pic above is so grainy…must have saved a small file. #bummer

Also, I’m OBSESSED with this shop that sells the cutest hoodies.  I mean seriously….Dear Santa please deliver on my doorstep. It’s called Evy’s Tree.

HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!

Weekend Wrap Up: ShopRiffraff Dallas, Sprinkles, & National Coffee Day

This weekend started off with a bang!  I went with Sarah and Diana to the Riffraff Dallas store opening and let me tell you it was so cute in there!  That store is adorable!  I got a couple of really cute tops for fall and one I think I’ll wear in our Christmas photos.  But all you DFW ladies need to stop by Riffraff SOON!

I sent my Mom & Dad a text with the 3 of us holding our coffee.  They promptly texted back holding their Sonic cups.  They are so silly!  My Mom actually hates coffee, but my Daddy loves it like me 🙂

COFFEETEXT

The rest of the weekend was filled with laundry, grocery shopping, and cleaning house.  Ya know all that fun stuff! We have tons of Halloween candy already.  The good thing is I don’t eat this stuff…I only like Godiva and the expensive chocolates.  Doesn’t that sound snotty??? har har har.

Take a look-see at that Sprinkles dark chocolate cupcake too.  Are you dribbling down your chin yet?  Yes, it’s just as good as it looks.  #chocoholic #onlytheexpensivekind

Also, incase you didn’t know that TODAY is national coffee day here is my PSA : “TODAY IS NATIONAL COFFEE DAY!!!”

Starbucks must have missed that memo….GAH!  As far as I know Krispy Kreme, McDonald’s, and Dunkin Donuts are the only ones giving away incentives for National Coffee Day.  Good for you peeps.  I’m really disappointed in YOU Starbucks!!!

Fall is Back in Town!

I’m so glad it’s finally fall you guys.  And I’m secretly hoping they do an early release of the Starbucks Christmas drinks this year like they did for the Pumpkin Spice Latte.  I want my Eggnog Latte in an Uncle Eddie Moose Mug….Yeah baby!

I’m wearing a scarf today for the first time in ages.  It feels weird….but good.  I miss that extra layer that flows down and hides my muffin top.  I feel like my life is getting crazier and crazier.  I’ve got a couple of wedding booked (I’m so excited!) and my fall photo sessions are almost fully booked!  I love taking photos and can’t wait to make special memories for these families.

All my fall TV show favorites are back on!  Holla!  I got my weekly dose of The Goldbergs and The Blacklist.  If you aren’t watching these two…get on that honey.  Also, we watched a new show called Scorpion last night that was really good too!

The Goldbergs

JEFF GARLIN, WENDI MCLENDON-COVEY, GEORGE SEGAL, TROY GENTILE, HAYLEY ORRANTIA, SEAN GIAMBRONE

Terence and I were playing with some of the iPad updates and this picture booth was one of them.  Connor was laughing so hard watching his face morph into distorted photos.

Here is me and Ter-Bear

We also got to meet baby Carlisle last weekend.  She’s my “future daughter in law” in case you didn’t know 😉  Adam and Christa are some of our best friends and it’s been a joy watching them get engaged, married, and now with a new baby!  They are going to rock this parenting thing!

She’s so beautiful!

D7K_2818

I’ve been putting out fall décor here and there….I don’t do a whole lot of fall, but this is what I have so far. (Oh yeah….we found a scorpion in our BED and the bug man is at our house right now going through every nook and cranny so I don’t have the heeby jeebies every time I go to sleep at night)

Connor drawing pumpkins.  His sort of looks like Shrek! ha ha!  These Crayola Twistable Crayons are “da bomb”.  I highly recommend!

So how’s your fall going so far???

Photo Fun + Finish This

Last week I ordered some files from Caravan Shoppe and I am just in LOVE with them! I took the files to Office Depot and had them printed on 36 x 48 paper and they work great for photo backdrops. Someday my dream of having a professional photo setup will come true! Until then I think these are great for taking festive photos. The holidays are right around the corner and I’m excited to use these for some photo shoots.

Connor begged for a skeleton shirt (This one glows in the dark) and this Batman bucket.  They are both from Chasing Fireflies.  I just love that magazine, most of the stuff is pretty pricey, but the bucket was only $8 & the shirt was on sale for $8 too!

I also got my Birchbox in this week.  I really wish they would include more MAKEUP!  I have about a bazillion perfume samples and nail polishes.  I want makeup yo!
