Thanksgiving 2008

We celebrated Thanksgiving this year with Terence’s family at Terence’s Granddaddy and Nell’s new place in Trinity Terrace. They had an amazing Thanksgiving buffet with all kinds of food. Their apartment is so nice, it’s on the 10th floor with an awesome view of downtown. I am so Thankful for such a wonderful family on my side and Terence’s side! Here are all the “kids” at our table

Oh Lord…

Okay,

I have a confession….I’ve had like a million eggnog lattes at Starbucks since they started selling them recently…like almost every morning.

Then I open up Internet Explorer where my homepage is MSN with the heading of the “10 worst holiday foods” Of course eggnog is on there and it compares it to a “liquid cheeseburger”!!!

Stupid, nasty, terrible, horrifying eggnog…why must you taste soooo good!

(Is there any point of ordering a non-fat latte if they are poring eggnog into it anyways?)

PROBABLY NOT!

Bonnie’s visit and Twilight movie weekend!

You know you are obsessed with Twilight when your sister flies all the way from Vegas to come share the movie experience with you! We had 7 pm tickets, but couldn’t wait that long Saturday so we exchanged them for a 3 pm showing. We both thought the movie was really good and the two main characters Bella and Edward did a great job! The only problem we thought was that their romance progressed too quickly in the movie and there wasn’t enough of the storyline that was in the book to back up some of the issues that were in the movie. I know it’s hard to sum a novel into a two hour film…so I guess there is some lenience there. The important thing is they did make enough money to produce the second book New Moon. We are very excited about this!
So we picked up Bonnie on Friday night at around midnight. Saturday morning we woke up early so we could get our day started! We went to the park and Terence took some pictures of us together, went to Starbucks for an eggnog latte, and then to Southlake to do some shopping, eat at the Cheesecake Factory, and see Twilight.
I just got home from dropping Bonnie off at the airport and I already miss her! 🙁
Today Bon wanted to go to Cracker Barrel for lunch because they don’t have those in Vegas….I know “shudder”!!! NO CRACKER BARREL!!!! Then we shopped around for some frames for our pictures and headed to the airport. I guess in about a month we will see each other again at Christmas. Looking forward to see ALL of my family next month.
Never underestimate living close to your family, you never know what a blessing it is having them near until you don’t anymore. I had a great weekend Bon Bon! I am so glad you got to come!!! SQUEE!!! SQUEE!!!!

Here we are with our very gay waiter Donnie at the Cheesecake Factory! I think he really enjoyed us that night and he was HILARIOUS!

I’m so glad tomorrow is finally Friday. I’ve been counting down the days until Bonnie flies in tomorrow. Honestly, I am so homesick…so any resemblance of home, especially seeing Bon will make everything better 🙂 Of course we have our tickets to see Twilight Saturday night and hopefully we will have a nice dinner at Cheesecake Factory and enjoy a Godiva cheesecake! Soooooo looking forward to tomorrow and the weekend ahead….
