School Days

scn0021

Oh my gosh I wouldn’t go back to highschool and re-live those days for anything!  We didn’t have cell phones back then, I can’t imagine what school is like now days with all the social media around.  We had beepers.  If that doesn’t age me well….it does.  Above is a picture of Bonnie and I on our first day of senior year.  We were ballin’ in our Geo Prizm.  We had to share a car, but Bonnie always drove and I was co-pilot.  We had some great times in that car.  I think we spent $5 a week to fill the tank up and we would fight over that too….ha ha….if only we knew how CHEAP that was back then!

Here we are on our first day of either 1st or 2nd grade???

Ft. Riley, KS and butterfly backpacks 🙂

I also found this gem.  My highschool i.d.  Geesh that seems like a lifetime ago.  Back in the days when I used to tan and eat whatever I wanted.  Christina Aguilera’s Genie in a Bottle was topping the charts.  Time sure does fly!  No matter what grade, semester, or year you are starting try to find the joy in each day!  School is not easy….but the friendships made are forever.

I’ll try not to get a speeding ticket in a school zone this year Mom! Love ya!

Night at the Circus

We’ve had a fab weekend!  Our weekend started off with a bang as we attended the circus for the first time 🙂  It was amazing!  Connor was mesmerized by the entire show.  He’s been asking if we can go back again….yeah let me start saving now kiddo!  We had one $14 bag of cotton candy and that’s it.  Next time remind me to hoard snacks in my purse.  Mmmmmkay?  Regardless, it was totally worth the smile on Connor’s face and it was fun family time together.

We’ve started walking during the evenings.  It’s been cool here lately, only in the mid 90’s for highs in TX is freakish.  Cold front!!!!!  It’s usually blistering hot.  Of course now that I’ve said that it’s going to be 115 next week probably.  I just have to get this lard off my body.  I’m so discouraged right now, and I go in and out of eating well and exercising then lose my mojo.  I need someone to stand behind me with a stick and just poke me constantly.  Now that I’ve had a job change and a little more time on my hands I’d like to focus on getting fit again.  Any who…..

Okay prepare yourself for picture overload……here was the circus:

Friday Linky Fun & Other Random Stuff

It’s been a great week!  We’ve had lots of rain and cooler temps here in Texas.  I’m actually not getting pit stains every time I walk out the door.  It’s amazing.  It gets so hot here during the summer and the city usually enforces water restrictions in the summer, so I’m glad we got rain and can water our grass.

I also got this lovely Toyota #Highlander delivered right to my front door with a full tank of gas courtesy of Dallas Toyota.  I love this ride so much I may not give it back!  It’s loaded with all the bells and whistles.  It’s fancy schmancy….maybe one day when I win the lotto I can buy one 🙂  Until then I’m going to enjoy every minute in my pimp wagon.

11149_10153117932150125_78718524_n I bought this Christmas smocked long all for Connor last year. I’m thinking it may not fit him by Christmas this year. It is really long in the legs and it’s SO cute! He’s just a super tall kiddo. It’s a size 4 NWT $25 shipped if you want it. Leave me your name and paypal email in the comments section. 1146551_10153119505180125_175677338_n At school this week they had a petting zoo for all the kiddos. Connor just loved it! We had a fun time at work pretending like we were in the tropics 🙂IMG_20130815_095514 And last, but not least. This picture is absolutely one of my FAVORITE fall photos. I found it a long time ago on the internet and I always set it as my screen saver because it just makes me think of cool weather, pumpkins, cider, boots, sweaters, scarves, and holiday coffee drinks being in the near future. fallpic

My Moment of Bliss #BLISSandTell #CGC

Thank you to neuro BLISS for sponsoring this post and providing the product sample.

Life can get so stressful.  I know you know what I’m talking about.  Between family, work, and other commitments I have very little me time.  Every now and then I do get a few moments to myself to relax in perfect bliss.  My idea of me time usually consists of watching my favorite TV shows, taking pictures (randomly) not because I have to, eating ice cream with no regrets, or an iced coffee 🙂  A night out on the town with my hubby is fun and something we don’t get to do much anymore.  Eating a Godiva cheesecake=Heaven!  Dinner and a movie with girlfriends….

But, my most blissful moment in life so far has been the moment I found out I was pregnant with Connor.  I knew in that moment my life was going to change forever.  I can’t explain the overwhelming joy and emotion I felt during this time.  I’ll never ever forget it.  Here’s a picture of my moment of bliss:

July 2009DSC_0178

D7K_3156You get what I’m saying?

These are the moments in life we live for.  The blissful times we want to share and never forget.  I have shared on this blog before how I struggle with anxiety and depression.  Yes, I’m medicated…blah blah blah….I stress way to much and over analyze everything!  It’s ridiculous.   That’s just who I am and it’s something I’ll probably struggle with for the rest of my life.  One thing I never want to forget to do is realize what a blessing this life is and to cherish every moment!

I do use methods to help myself calm and relax.  I do yoga, breathing exercises, and essential oils.  Well, recently I got to try a new beverage from Neuro BLISS.  It’s a yummy drink that helps reduce stress and promote relaxation.  When I first tried it I really didn’t expect much, because I have a high stress level and I just didn’t think it would do anything.  The flavor was very refreshing…the only thing I can think of is the phrase “sea breeze”.  It’s light and sweet.  About an hour later I really noticed a difference.  I AM NOT KIDDING.  I don’t know if I was just having a good day, but I really did feel more relaxed.

Here is some info Neuro drinks recently conducted a study that surveyed more than 1,200 consumers:

The findings revealed that:Nearly 50 percent of Americans spend at least half their daily lives stressed out.  The cure for stress varies, with 89 percent agreeing that a night out on the town does little for stress relief.  More than half admit a vacation is what they need the most, while a quarter of the respondents say personal time would help treat the stress.

I Shrek’n

D7K_3141

This summer has flown by.  We are in the midst of a thunderstorm right now and I’m so glad, we need the rain badly.  It seems like school starts earlier and earlier each year.  Not that I had off this summer or anything….but I’m just saying that when I was in school it was September before we headed back???  We have tickets to the circus on Friday and OMG Connor is going nuts just thinking about it!  Every morning he wakes up and asks if the circus is here yet.  Also, dang circus tickets are expensive!  Seriously, for three of us to go it costs more than a weeks worth of groceries….and that’s not even front section seats or anything.  Gulp.

Anyway……..

Another thing about this summer has been the ice cream truck.  EVERY.TIME.I.HEAR.THAT.MUSIC. I want to turn around and speed 80 miles an hour in the opposite direction just to avoid a fit.  I’m such a horrible mother you know because apparently Connor is the only kid who doesn’t get ice cream every time the ice cream truck rolls up.  BUT- I have caved a few times and let him pick out something 🙂  Last time he picked out a Shrek popsicle.  Can you just see the adoring look on his face???  If ice cream doesn’t buy you love I don’t know what will.
