Connor has been very interested in dinosaurs lately.  He’s been studying plant life and dinosaurs in pre-school and loves playing dinos with all his friends.  This weekend we made a fun snack involving dinosaurs, we called them “dino nests”.

I let Connor eat one and then he wanted to get out his dinosaurs and try to steal the eggs!  Ha ha!  The imagination of a 3-year-old 🙂

Okay, so let me show y’all how I made them:

PicMonkey Collage

  1. White chocolate bark (for baking)
  2. Pretzel sticks
  3. Melt the pretzel sticks and chocolate together
  4. Scoop and lay on a baking sheet to cool to make your nest
  5. I used sugar crystals to make rocks
  6. I also added a light dusting of cocoa to the top for the dirt
  7. Last, I added the Post Pebbles “eggs” to each nest with a little dinosaur topper (this added some fun color & really popped)

The dinosaurs have eaten their fill and so did we.  We loved making our dino egg nests and hope you’ll try them too!

Weekend Wrap Up #ContainFTW Sneak Peek!

We’ve had a pretty easy-going weekend.  Can I just say I am sooooooo ready for fall weather?  I know some people like the heat, but I am just not meant to sweat.  I love me some scarves, boots, and sweaters!  Yesterday we went over to Terence’s parents house to celebrate our beloved Granddaddy’s 87 birthday. They just don’t come like Granddaddy anymore, a true gentleman in every sense of the word.  We love you so much Granddaddy and so glad we got to celebrate with you!  It’s truly a blessing to get together every weekend with all the cousins.  As the family grows and the dining table stretches to new lengths, it’s amazing to see all these kids grow up.  I miss my family back home in Arkansas, but I am so thankful we BOTH have such great families surrounding us.

All the kids playing outside

Can I just have 1/10 of this energy please???

In other fun news….Fort Worth got a brand spanking new sparkly, shiny, HUGE new Container Store.  I got to pop in on my lunch break and take a sneak peek of the new store.  It was so much bigger than our previous store and if you know me then you know my love for all things organizational and office supplies.  🙂  It is my happy place.  The Container Store gals that gave us a tour were amazing and such nice people!  I’m sorry I couldn’t stay longer, but I sure did enjoy getting a look inside this new organizational paradise.  I’ll be back SOON!

Here are some more pictures of the new store:D7K_3203

Boot shapers, who knew?  These will keep your boots look great for fall!D7K_3178

Love the Elfa system.  I’ve talked about it before on the blog.  We did Connor’s closet with Elfa.  His room is not that big, so having the shelving and storage in his closet really frees up space for playing with toys.D7K_3179 D7K_3181

Love this office area.  The magazine racks and pegboard are so cool!D7K_3183 D7K_3185

Kitchen goodsD7K_3213 My dream is to one day have a craft room.  If we ever get the extra space I’d love to have an area like this to put all my knick knacks and things.  I’m always putting them all over the place (basically wherever I can find a spot) and lose track of where all my craft goodies are.  Love this idea!D7K_3209

I’m going back for this beauty.  A lucite tape dispenser.  One of my friends on Instagram commented that it would be good for washi tape.  That is such a cute idea!D7K_3208

Some other lovely local Fort Worth bloggers 🙂  It was so nice to meet you all!!!

I’ll be back soon for more fun Container Store….prepare yourself!

Thank you for your hospitality and the fun sneak peek inside this store.
D7K_3206I hope you all are having a great weekend!

Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow #BenefitCosmetics Foundation (New Favorite)

D7K_3150

I recently bought a new foundation to try it out.  It’s called Benefit “Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow”

It is supposed to be light, airy, and give you a brighter appearance without looking too caked on.

It is extremely light, I will say that.  It’s very liquid-y.  If you pump it too hard you’ll end up using too much because it comes out so fast (so be careful!)  I was happy with the coverage & the fact it has SPF 25.  It felt light and it did brighten up my skin.  You can still see all my freckles, but I also don’t want to look like I have a caked on finished.  Benefit Hello Flawless did give me that glowing effect.  Overall,  I’m pretty happy with it!  Now, I just need to find a concealer I am happy with 😉  Any suggestions?

Grapevine Aquarium + Win Free Tickets! #SeaLifeGrapevine

Prepare for picture overload ahead. A few weeks ago when my BFF and her family were in town we visited the Grapevine aquarium. It’s right across from Lego Land. “Jump” Photo Challenge #IHeartFaces

This is absolutely one of my favorite photos.  I’m not a professional photographer or anything, but this just happened to be perfect timing.  The look on Connor’s face and the joy of jumping in the leaves.  So sweet 🙂

So I entered it into the I Heart Faces challenge this week.  The theme is JUMP!

12th Anniversary

D7K_3132

My honey and I celebrated 12 years of marriage yesterday.  He’s my best friend, and there is nobody else I could imagine spending life with.  We have been through so much these past 12 years and I know (I hope) we have many more years to come.  No matter what comes our way we’ll always have God, each other, our families, and friends.  I’m also so thankful for every picture I’ve ever taken.  I know I’m a little “snap happy” sometimes, but I’ve never regretted taking one photo.  The memories they hold in my heart and mind are so wonderful to look back on and bring back so many emotions.  So…..I try to take an anniversary picture every year of the two of us.  We don’t really get many of just us. 🙂D7K_3070

Ter-Bear got me some lovely Kendra Scott earrings.  (I guess he does read my blog???)  Ha ha!  Actually he asked me what I wanted so I just told him….which is just fine with me!  I have seen these around for awhile, but have never splurged and bought any.  I went with the smaller size.  The large ones just seemed to much for me and were a bit heavy.

I chose this slate color PicMonkey Collage2

And this pretty cobalt blue color: PicMonkey Collage1We also had lunch together at the Macaroni Grill.  I just love these two!

IMG_20130804_133525We watched our wedding video and exchanged sweet cards.

Finished with a yummy chocoholic dessert. IMG_20130804_135709

Thank you God for every year I have with these two.

Blessed beyond measure.IMG_20130804_140337
