Happy Summer 2025

Well, we have had a lot going on this summer & now all of a sudden school is about to start again!  Connor started football practice and Heidi has meet the teacher next week.  In between shuffling kids to extracurricular activities and my part time photography bookings I am pooped!  I’m still working at the bank, and I love it!  I say all the time that I’m ready to retire, but I guess that’s too soon at 44 huh?  I’ve been in banking and finance for over 20 years now, that seems crazy!  Time sure does go fast when you are living through it.  The one thing I will say is it’s SO important to take care of your finances and have your affairs in order, such as savings accounts, life insurance, and more!  As much as that’s a sensitive topic to talk about, it’s something I deal with every day with my customers. Connor will be starting college soon, and we try to live a debt free lifestyle.  Hopefully by the time he’s in college our home will be paid for, but it’s always good to set goals- even if sometimes life events happen, and things don’t go as planned.  Sometimes they DO!

One goal we had for this year is to remodel our “circa 1985” bathrooms….TBC….

We have had a summer full of birthdays.  Our Heidi turned 6 and had a wonderful party with friends.

My twin sister and I started a T-Shirt shop and here are a couple of the fun designs we made for fall:

Colleyville, TX has the BEST July show and we had a great time watching the fireworks and listening to country music with friends.

I turned 44.  YIKES!!!  I started this blog at 25.  Whaaaaaat?

The kiddos had a wonderful visit with my family in Arkansas.  I have a whole bunch of photos, but here are a few.

If you are a book lover like me you MUST get this night light.  It projects books, coffee, and fall leaves on the wall and it’s just magical.  You can also find it HERE.

Connor had a fun youth group trip for a week in New Mexico 🙂

Terence’s 44th birthday too!  We love you so much Ter-Bear!!!!

pumpkin topiary

Eyeing this for fall.  It’s giving McKenzie Childs vibes, but it’s only $12.99!

Up Next…. I’m going to share our recent vacation on the Disney Treasure Cruise Ship!!!  OMG it was the best time ever.  TRULY….I’ll see you soon 🙂

Spooky Season

We live right across the street from a pumpkin patch.  Did I ever tell you all that?  It’s great because it’s so close and it’s the CUTEST patch, but MAN…the traffic this time of year.  It’s also where we usually get our annual pumpkin patch photos.

Last weekend a friend and I took our younger girls to an event in Grapevine to kick off fall with live music in the garden.  It was so much fun & the girls enjoyed ring pops and glow sticks.  Playing on the playground was had and lots of fun music!

Speaking of Ring Pops, isn’t this idea a cute one for Halloween?  I need to start thinking of school parties again now that Heidi started Kindergarten.

I found these inflatable pumpkins at the Dollar Tree for $5 bucks.  We don’t really decorate with scary things, but I loved these pumpkins.  Sadly, one has already deflated…but they looked cute.  I’m going to try and find where the hole is so I can re-inflate it.

Heidi is ready for Halloween in this cute sweatshirt from Riley & Rhett.  Use code BECKY10 for discount!

Here is Connor’s football photo- 2024 (9th grade Freshman)  He’s getting so big…someone hold me!!!

Heidi’s headband is also on sale from Brianna Cannon.  Use code 10BECKY for discount here!

If y’all haven’t tried this Crisp Apple from OLIPOP- you MUST!!!  It’s like a cold apple cider and sooooo delicious!

Also, Starbucks has the cutest mummy cookies right now, go getcha one 🙂

Here is my fall mantle.  I love fall mantles and porchscapes.  There’s just something so cozy about fall decor.

If you live in DFW and are looking for something fun to do I highly recommend Pumpkin Nights in Arlington, TX.  We went a couple of weeks ago and it was so much fun.  This is our second year to go, and each year it gets better and better.  I have a video with all the highlights here too.

You can get tickets HERE and use code “BECKY” for 10% off your tickets.

Connor had high school homecoming parade last night and the theme was 90’s Hip Hop.

This is my new fall purse and I am loving it!  It’s by a brand called Allyn and it’s real leather and so soft and well made.  Check out all their styles HERE.  It comes with 3 straps, so you can go from crossbody to handheld purse.

And just for nostalgia…here is a memory of Connor’s first Halloween pumpkin patch visit.

Stuff I’m Loving: February 2023 Edition

First and foremost…I was 25 years old when I started this blog.  Well, Mama ain’t in her 20’s anymore and things are starting to snap, crackle, and pop! Here I am in the land of my 40’s and it’s true what my Grandpa used to say, “Getting old ain’t for whimps”.  I work at the computer a LOT, whether it’s at work or at home editing photos, I use my hands a ton.  Typing catches up to you and my hands and wrists get really sore and cramped. A new product I’m loving is this arnica cream. It’s all natural pain relief you can use for sore joints and muscles.  I am here ladies and gentlemen…the age where you use creams and gels for relief and this stuff is LEGIT awesome. The gel is my favorite and it’s not sticky at all.  It goes on cold and then you can feel it sinking into your muscles and it feels like a dream.

Heidi and I made cupcakes the other day because she has been begging to help “bake cupcakes”.  This snack spinner from GoBe Kids is one of my favorite inventions.  Especially if you have little ones.  It keeps snacks and sprinkles (in this case!) in their place.  The easy push button is great for toddler snack time too!

One of my favorite clothing brands for Heidi is Smocked Sweets Clothing.  They have the cutest outfits for little girls.  This one is my absolute favorite for Valentine’s Day.  She’s wearing her Brianna Cannon headband too! I heart this so much!

We’ve also been decorating around the house for Valentine’s day.  I love decorating the mantle.

This pottery from For Pete’s Sake Pottery is one of my favorite new finds.  Loving this heart dish and the little hand painted church.

Of course my all time favorite accessories from Brianna Cannon are back with the most GORGEOUS Valentine’s Day and Spring launch.  Everything is sparkly and the mix of pinks and reds this season is my favorite.  Check out the new Valentine’s and Spring line HERE.  Don’t forget to use CODE: BECKY10 for 10% off your purchase and free shipping!

I found this little heart hat at Loft and I think it was misplaced because I got it for a steal and it was so tiny that it wouldn’t fit an adult.  It looks so cute on her.

And last but NOT least…one of my favorite accessories to coffee on the Earth.  The JavSok.  This one is so perfect for Valentine’s Day, and if you are like me and drink cold coffee all year around….trust me….you need a JavaSok!!!  Code JAVAMAMA10 will get you 10% off your purchase 🙂
