Paula loves her BACON!

I was watching Paula Deen yesterday on my lunch break at work and she just cracks me up!

Paula: “I’m makin meatloaf with bacon today ya’ll….mmmmm…”

(she proceeds to take it out of the oven)

Paula: “Ooh I see a piece of that bacon peaking outta that meatloaf!”

(she cuts off a big ole slab of meatloaf)

Paula: “But this little piggy ain’t gettin away from Paula!”

…onto the rest of the menu

(then she proceeds to cook a chicken soup with two cups of whipping cream)

Oh how I love Paula and she can come cook for me ANYTIME! And you know Paula EATS the food she cooks on TV, unlike that Giada De Laurentiis who is skin and bones and only licks her fingers!

Getting Settled

Yeah! I finally have Internet tonight after Terence spent an hour on the phone with AT&T. We are getting settled and Terence has been working on hanging blinds around the house. It’s nice to have a little bit of privacy and not wonder if neighbors are peeking in! We did order one for the door, but it was the wrong size so we have to re-order another blind.

I got this clock the other day…not so sure about it. What do you think?
The mantle just looked so bare….
I have put up some of my Christmas decorations and now
I finally have a reason to use those glass jars 🙂
I just need a TREE now!!!
I saw this idea in Pottery Barn where they used the fake snow and ornaments in them.
Only I went to Hobby Lobby and got 3 bags of snow for $2 and two packages of
ornaments for less than $10 and there ya have it…decorating on a budget!

We also got a rug and put that in, it’s really neutral…but we are pretty plain folks!
I am sure this decorating thing will come with time.

New washer and dryers are in

Glass bowl at TJ Maxx for $12
It’s pretty big even though it doesn’t look like it in the picture

More Christmas stuff

I also got these candle holders at TJ Maxx for less than $10 for the pair!
Woohoo! So that is all my “decor” so far…trying to contain myself and not overload on decorating so we can spend money on more important things like baby Connor, but it’s so hard to move into a new home and not want to decorate!
but…..
He’s gonna need lots of diapers this next year, so I think I can handle it 🙂

I’M BACK!

Yeah! I officially have Internet as of tonight….finally! I thought I was going to die without any connection to the outside world for almost a week! LOL! Things are getting done slowly but surely. We got the blinds in today and Terence has installed some of them. It looks so bare in here, I guess because we’ve never had a space this big to fill with furniture…but I know all that will come with time. All I really want is a Christmas tree right now anyways! It’s my favorite time of year, and until now I have never been able to officially decorate with a large tree. Also at the top of the list is baby Connor’s room. We still need to order furniture and get all that together.

Moving is exhausting!!!! I have felt wiped this entire week ya’ll…just packing…unpacking…arranging….organizing! It can get to ya! I am sure bloggyland has gone on without me and I have a bazillion posts to catch up on 🙂

Night night

Aren’t these the CUTEST little onesies? I saw a pattern for them on Etsy and my friend Jennifer (who I met at Starbucks a couple years ago) made them for me. She is so talented and precious! Thank you Jennifer I think Connor is going to rock these 🙂

Builder Blues

Well, yesterday we went back to the house to do a walk-through with our builder, real estate agent, and broker. It’s where you go back through and make a list of things you want taken care of before you close. We had an inspection on Friday and some things came up regarding the roof and some electrical issues, not to mention there needed to be some touch ups done on the paint.
So we addressed these things to the builder and he got offended and said he felt ganged up on. I think he has a lot of personal issues in this house since he did a lot of the work himself and gets offended easily if we want something changed. But WE are the ones who are going to be living here and paying on the mortgage so I don’t think we were being unreasonable! As the day came to a close he sort of calmed down a bit and we compromised on some issues. We go back Thursday to check the progress….but man that was a doozy and I hate to hurt people’s feeling…but this is OUR house! Anyways…just be praying that everything works out in the coming week and we can close on this house soon!
