Most Comfy Dress EVER.

D7K_2767

I know a lot of you have heard of one of my favorite stores KiKi La’Rue.

D7K_2772

Seriously y’all this is the most comfortable, soft, flowy dress I’ve owned.  I need to hem it a bit, but I could wear it all day long.  All of Kiki La’Rue clothing is like this….super soft, trendy, and comfortable.  That Becka has a good eye!  You can dress this up or down.  I can wear it to work or out on a date for the weekend.  It’s amazeballs and I love it.  D7K_2778

What clothing items can you not live without this summer?

(I wasn’t told to say this or compensated in any way….I just love it & wanted to share)

How to get Longer & Stronger Hair

rect2985

Thanks to my sister and her hair friend for sharing these tips 🙂

I’m definitely going to start trying these today….also I have to say I have really curly, thick hair.  It takes a lot to make it oily.  So if you have fine, straight hair I’m not sure how well this method will work for you.  I tried the shampoo/conditioner this morning and it actually smells pretty good!  Both were less than $10 at Wal-Mart and my hair is super soft and less frizzy.

In other news.  There are absolutely no words for yesterday’s events in Boston.  People are crazy and downright evil.

This has been circulating the Internet today and think it’s one of the best things I’ve heard:

“Boston. Horrible.

I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, “Well, I’ve had it with humanity.”

But I was wrong. I don’t know what’s going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human insect or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths.

But here’s what I DO know. If it’s one person or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet. You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out. (Thanks FAKE Gallery founder and owner Paul Kozlowski for pointing this out to me). This is a giant planet and we’re lucky to live on it but there are prices and penalties incurred for the daily miracle of existence. One of them is, every once in a while, the wiring of a tiny sliver of the species gets snarled and they’re pointed towards darkness.

But the vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We’d have eaten ourselves alive long ago.

So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, “The good outnumber you, and we always will.”

Sassy & Classy & Bring Me More Coffee!

I love holidays and all….but I’ve got so much work piled up on my desk right now I really shouldn’t even be writing this blog post.  But alas…priorities people!

We had a Rainbow vacuum salesman at our house last night until 10 pm.  10 PM!!!!  I mean it pulled up all this crazy nasty dirty icky stuff you can’t even imagine out of our carpet.  I just can’t fathom spend 2K on a vacuum cleaner?  Do any of you have one?  Thoughts?

I’m so tired today I’m about to suck this macchiatto down like there is no tomorrow.
Tried my first salted caramel cake pop at Starbucks this morning.
If this doesn’t give me thunder thighs then I don’t know what will…but OMG amazing!!!

Connor’s freshly cut hair-do.  He got about 2 inches off the fro.  It’s so much easier to manage now 🙂

On our way home from the big D the other day he slept all the way home like this.  I guess he was okay because he didn’t suffocate.  It just doesn’t seem right that he always needs a blanket when it’s 110 degrees outside!  Looking forward to the weekend cold front- 80’s baby!!!!

Please weatherman be right this time!!!!
Connor has been extra sassy lately.  Getting him up in the morning to get ready for the day is my least favorite thing.  EVER.  The tantrums are wearing on me.  He kicked and screamed this morning because he didn’t want to wear the shoes I put on him…..sigh….
He also left a crayon in my car cup holder.  Thank you so much!  I guess it did need a good wax job?

I ordered Connor’s Halloween costume from Zulily yesterday!  Isn’t this the cutest?  And get this- only $11.99!!!! Score!  Now if he’ll just keep that hat with the rabbit on we’ll be all good 😉

Hope you all have a blessed day!
xoxo

Frizzy Frazzled Hair Help! + {Contest}

You all know how much I love Dove products.  I’ve written about Dove on my blog a few times.  I’m always pleased with the results I get from Dove because it’s gentle on my hair and skin.
I recently had the opportunity to try Dove Damage Therapy- Intensive Repair Conditioner.  I have naturally curly hair.  If you have seen my two year old’s Afro head then you know where he gets it from….his Mama.  Of course they say you always want what you don’t have.
I blow dry and straighten my hair all the time.  This wreaks havoc on my hair in a major way.  I’m always searching for products that help repair the damage I’ve done to my hair.
Dove Damage Therapy Conditioner left my hair feeling soft and less frizzy.  It helped smooth out my curls and my hair didn’t feel as dry and frazzled on the ends.  I also color my hair, you name it I’ve done it!  I’m surprised my hair still wants to be on MY head!  I’m not easy on it!   Teasing, brushing, blow drying, coloring, straightening, curling, and styling….I need damage control.
I was happy to find that, once again, Dove exceeded my expectations and delivered a product that did what it said it would do.  Dove Damage Therapy Conditioner nourished and repaired my dry hair. It contains fiber active technology that penetrates deep inside the hair strand, helping rebind damaged proteins.  My hair feels soft, smooth, and renewed again!

Dressing for your Shape

I’m no fashion expert, but I do know what I like and what is comfortable.  I’m not exactly where I want to be right now as far as weight and how I look in clothing.  I tend to gravitate towards lose pants and blousy tops.  They are very forgiving, and thank goodness they are in style right now.  But I’ve also been asked if I’m expecting before….by the way….NEVER ask that. Ever

That’s why you have to be careful when wearing stuff like this! I don’t want to wear skin tight tops that show my muffin top, but I don’t want to look like a tent either….
Blousy tops are in. It doesn’t mean you are about to pop out a kid yo!
I have a curvy figure and unfortunately a Kardashian booty.  (Without the itty bitty waste) :/

Below is a style board I created.  It’s things I would probably pick out while shopping.  It doesn’t necessarily mean I would get THESE items.  I usually shop at TJMaxx or Marshall’s to try and get the “look for less”.  If I want to splurge I’ll go to the Anthropologie sale room.  Everything goes on sale people…everything.  It will eventually go on sale, and trust me you’ll be kicking yourself when you see a top you go 2 weeks later for 50% off.  Soft, flowy, and breezy describes my summer style.  And a little bit of stretch in a pant never hurt either 😉

Also-pairing with a statement necklace or fun colorful jewelry is fun too!
