My Man is Spicy What Can I Say? #PersonalFeast #Velveeta

Terence and I both work full-time jobs and most of the time we are running around like chickens with our heads off.  The most dreaded moment of the day for me is “What’s to eat???”  I am the WORST at meal planning and cooking a decent meal for my family.  We can’t afford to eat out every single day because that would eat up our entire food budget.  I’m always on the look out for quick, easy, filling meals for Terence and I.  As the Mom and Wife of our family I feel responsible for putting a decent meal on the table or packing a healthy lunch.  Terence is especially hard because he wants something filling and good.  He always says he can’t eat “girly” food for lunch.  Ha ha!

I think what he means is he just wants his stomach to be full and not have to visit an all you can eat buffet.  I sent him off to work today with a Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles.  He said it was really really good!  His favorite was the Chicken Chili Cheese Mac.  He has over an hour commute to and from work every day, so I know getting an important lunch to hold him over until dinner is important.

There are easy to read instructions on the box below:

The best part is I can feed my man without breaking the bank.  These yummy meals were just $2.48 at my local Wal-mart.  Terence said it was cheesy and spicy and it filled him up!  Check out your local paper for $1 off one Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles.  I know everyone says “Happy Wife Happy Life”, but I know the way to my happy husband is through is stomach 😉  D7K_3041

It’s summertime and all the kids are out of school.  Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s great to get outside and play.  Connor spends a lot of time while he’s at school playing outside with his buddies.  When he gets home he’s ready to chill just like Mom & Dad. Let’s face it, it’s like 110 degrees outside here in Texas and personally I can only withstand a certain amount of that before I fall over.

In the evenings when we get home I let Connor pick out a movie to watch and he has a snack while I’m making dinner.  We also let him watch movies to wind him down before getting ready for bed.  Lately we’ve been running out of options and although we have a decent DVD collection, it doesn’t compare to the variety of shows that Netflix “Just for Kids” has on hand.  Netflix just launched a great new feature designed to meet any family’s summertime entertainment needs. The Families feature has lists of movies and TV shows for entertainment all summer long.   Netflix Families is accessible from any computer or tablet & is available for both members and non-members. Families with Netflix can enjoy their favorites – always without commercials – anytime, anywhere.

One of the first things I noticed when scrolling through Netflix Families was the huge selection of TV shows.  Right now my DVR is full of shows that never get watched or Connor has already seen a thousand times.  Some of Connor’s favorite shows are “Super Why”, “Jake & The Neverland Pirates”, and “Mater’s Tall Tales”.  He can watch these shows whenever he wants & they are readily available without taking up space on my DVR.  I also don’t have to worry about recording his favorite shows ahead of time because they are already there!D7K_2525

I let Connor choose a movie to watch and he chose “A Turtle’s Tale”.  I’ve never seen this movie, but it was really cute!  He’s been interested in the ocean and sea life lately and this was such a heartwarming story.  I know we’ll come back to this movie again and again.D7K_2532So here we go, loading it up on Netflix Families.

Also, remember Netflix works on a wide range of devices including smartphones, tablets, laptops, Smart TVs, Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo Wii.

I like how you can see the 5 star rating.  That way you can see if others liked the movie too.

He’s really enjoying watching “A Turtle’s Tale”D7K_2537 D7K_2552Watching a movie and enjoying a favorite summer popsicle 🙂

To learn more about Netflix Families visit www.Netflix.com/Families for more information on the best ways to stream as well as videos from families using Netflix.  A one-year Netflix subscription costs less than taking a family of five on two trips to the movie theater – and that’s without popcorn. Netflix delivers big entertainment without breaking the bank ($7.99/month).  Now that’s what I call a good time!  We try to save and cut costs wherever we can, so Netflix is a great option for our family.  We’ve had Netflix for over 3 years now and I’ve always been pleased with the service, now I’m super excited to have this fun feature especially geared towards Connor’s interests as well.  Thank you Netflix!

Yummy Breakfast Bread Bowls #TysonBreakfast

CB-sponsored-post-white-600 (1)D7K_2305Most mornings my entire family is in such a rush we are scrambling for something to eat.  I’m lucky if I get a banana with my cup of coffee.  I’d like to say I get up 30 minutes earlier than normal and cook a decent meal, but most days I hit the snooze button.  Then I feel guilty because I haven’t eaten or served my family a good breakfast.  If you remember back in school they always told us a great day starts out with a good breakfast.  Come lunch time my stomach is grumbling and I’m over eating to fill the void eating no breakfast has left me.

Recently we tried the awesomeness that is Tyson Breakfast Bread Bowls.  They were hearty, tasty, and provide a great source of protein to start your day!  Not to mention they were quick and easy to prepare.  Just a minute or two in the microwave and you have a yummy breakfast.  While shopping at Walmart I found these in the freezer section for the low low price of $3.88.

Let me introduce you to my pretty little friends.

Here we have the bacon, egg, and cheese & sausage, egg, and cheese

I’m a Clean Freak #AirSpeedONE

I love to vacuum.  Now, I know that may sound crazy to a lot of you, but I’m serious.  Growing up my sister would make fun of me and call me “Miss Cleany”.  I’m also a tiny bit of a germaphobe and get OCD tendencies when it comes to cleaning my home.  My husband can vouch for me here…but I vacuum at LEAST twice a week.  There is just something about having a clean home that helps me feel better and less stressed.

I was thrilled to try out the Eureka AirSpeed ONE Turbo Vacuum from Walmart.  Putting the vacuum together was a snap.  Literally, it just snaps together and voila you have a vacuum ready to go!  We have hardwood, tile, and carpet in our home.  All of our bedrooms are carpeted and we have two big area rugs in the living room.  Having a 3 year old in the house there are constant messes to be cleaned.  I remember one time he got a cup of red jello and spilled it everywhere!  Talk about freak out.

Coffee Party Time!

D7K_1694

Working 8-5 girl’s gotta have coffee right?

I know you all know how I feel about my coffee.  I’m just a wee bit particular when it comes to my beverage of choice.

Last week I decided to surprise all the girls at work (YES-I work with all women) with a coffee bar.  I think they liked it because it’s gone and all we have left is the stuff nobody likes.  You can tell they loved it because…..well, it’s GONE.  What is this coffee I’m writing about you ask?  It’s Gevalia!  Most of you have heard of Gevalia coffee, but let me give you a little history about it.  Gevalia began brewing coffee in Gavle, Sweden in 1853, where traditional cast-iron roasting developed its distinctively rich, smooth taste that’s never bitter.  Gevalia is expertly made with carefully selected beans and ground extra-fine to produce a rich coffee experience.Read More

Beauty on a Budget Doesn’t Have to Look Cheap #RimmelRealBeauty

CB-sponsored-post-white-script-400
I love to change-up my look, especially for a date with my hubby or a night on the town with my girlfriends.  I’ve always been a girly girl.  My twin sister and I loved to give each other makeovers growing up.  Over time we learned how to properly apply makeup, straighten our hair, and eventually the acne disappeared!  Ha ha!Every girl, no matter what age loves to feel beautiful.  Changing up your makeup is one way women love to change their look.  Let’s face it we change our minds a lot right?  It’s something that women have done for as long as I know and will continue forever!

I also have several friends who don’t like a lot of makeup, or they don’t like the feel of something on their face.  That’s okay because there are so many options out there right now.  You are bound to find something that will work with your skin type and color.  I recently had a fun time doing a couple of self-makeovers with Rimmel cosmetics.  You don’t have to spend a ton of money at expensive department stores to look smoking ladies!
Let me show you the two looks I created with Rimmel cosmetics.
I also want you to keep in mind that EVERYTHING I used to create these makeovers was only $3.97 at Walmart.  Crazy huh?

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know that I’m a picture-taking crazy woman.  I have no shame when it comes to pictures, and I know years down the road I’ll never regret taking a single photo.  We live in a society today where picture-taking isn’t only done on special occasions, it’s done on a daily basis and shared with everyone.  Whether it be Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, or a blog…..pictures are a way of expressing who we are and sharing memories.Read More
