Whew…There it is!

This post is going to be all sorts of random….but that is what happens when you don’t blog every day anymore and then your mind is full of so many things it might explode.

ATTN:  I don’t know if I pissed off Google or what.  My blog doesn’t show up when you search for it…I have no idea how to fix this or what’s up.  You have to type in the EXACT URL to get to it….blah.  If anyone knows why this is happening PUH-LEEZE comment or help a sista out.

Back to the daily:

Is this not the cutest chocolate like. EVER?  It’s a makeup compact and lipstick.  YUM.

I’m always talking about food, and chocolate, and coffee….one track mind.  Or three track….whatever.

I found these Poky Little Puppy cups at World Market the other day.  Nostalgia won me over.  I remember reading these Golden Books as a child and I just had to get them for Connor.  For $1 I think they were totally worth it.BBP_6984

Connor had his birthday party at Summit Rock Climbing.  His 6th birthday shirt was none other than….STAR WARS! (I plan on making a quilt out of all his birthday shirts one day) I’ll blog about his whole party on my next blog entry.  BUT- Right after his party I got sooooo sick last Sunday night and was literally in bed for 2 days.  It sucked.BBP_7060

This past weekend we drove to Arkansas for a couple of nights to celebrate my WONDERFUL Daddy who turned 60 today!  He’s the best Dad I could have ever prayed or wished for.  Thank you Daddy for being everything that you are and then some.  You are so special to SO many!BBP_7324

I attended the DFW Auto Show last week as well.  It was super fun and it’s nice to see the cars before they come out and we even got to drive a few 🙂

Can’t wait to try this new Mazda CX-9 that will be rolling out in the next couple months.

My sister got an entire CASE of Kinder eggs.  If you know us at all you know we are some crazy Kinder egg loving gals.  Maybe it’s because they are such a delicacy to us, or the fact that we can’t get them all the time….but we sort of binge when we find them and they are SO good!

My Mom came back with us to Texas this week and my sister is visiting this weekend 🙂

Just enjoying time with my family and trying NOT to think about house hunting or the depressing sinkhole that the housing market is right now. In the mean time I’ll keep working towards a firm bottom by living on the 3rd floor and climbing 20 flights of stairs a day *wink* *wink*

Tea Time Sandwiches

This post is sponsored by Oroweat®, all opinions are my own.

When I first met my husband one of the first things he told be about his food preferences is “I love bread”.  So, as you can imagine we eat lots of it in our house.  Connor has a sandwich for lunch every SINGLE day at school.  Turkey and cheese is his favorite.

BBP_6925

One of our favorite types of bread is Oroweat® Whole Grains 100% Whole Wheat Bread.  I like that it’s not little bitty slices, the bread is wholesome BIG slices and you can stack lots on it!

Oroweat® Whole Grains 100% Whole Wheat sliced bread has 21g of whole grains per slice! Oroweat® Whole Grains 100% Whole Wheat sliced bread is 90 calories and has no high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors or flavoring.

That’s exactly what I’m looking for when I look at labels in the store.  All the GOOD stuff.

We are also crazy about some BLTs in our house 🙂 #yum

Here is a yummy tea sandwich recipe I made the other day too!

Ingredients

16 slices white/wheat bread
4 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
2 roma tomatoes, thinly sliced

Combine feta cheese, cream cheese, mayo and fresh basil.
Cut the crust off of each slice of bread. Spread a generous spoonful of cheese mixture (about two tablespoons) on one slice of bread. Top cheese with one slice of tomato. Cut each sandwich into triangular halves. Serve immediately.

Happy eating everyone!

Hello it’s Me

Oh my gosh y’all what’s up?

My baby boo is turning SIX this Friday.  He want’s nothing short of a Star Wars extravaganza to happen.  All he is requesting is Legos.  If I step on another Lego I’m going to lose it.  It’s like a land mine in his room.

Thank you to Nana, Poppy, & Nannie Sue I got my birthday cards in the mail yesterday!

BBP_6920

Let’s take a walk down memory lane shall we?

Wasn’t this like yesterday???

Remember his first birthday…or his second birthday…oh my goodness how time flies.

I have to say this age is so much fun and he’s learning something new every day.  It’s so much different after they start school and begin to fly on their own.

In other news I’ve been crazy blessed with some fun photo shoots:  Check them all out on my Facebook page 🙂BBP_6274 BBP_6759 BBP_6902 BBP_5549

I also got to hang with this gal the other night and photograph the cheer team for the Allen American Ice Angels.  I had so much fun!  I am also enlisting this chick as my personal trainer because gosh darn it I can’t blame this plushiousness from “baby weight” any more… <3 you Somer!

Also, it’s Mine and Ter-Bear’s 15 year anniversary this year.  We were going to go on a trip somewhere, but once those kiddos start school it’s hard to work your schedule around a trip.  Where should we go any suggestions?

It’s literally like this”

“So…where do you want to go for our trip this year?”

“I dunno…you?”

“I don’t care, where do you want to go?”

“I have no idea?”

“…..what about ???”

“I don’t know what about here…yeah me either.”

Why it’s so hard is beyond me.

IN. CIRCLES. OVER.AND.OVER.AND.OVER.AND.OVER…we shall see….

Every day this week my Facebook time hop has been reminding me of the wonderful memories of England and Paris for our 10 year anniversary.  Take be back!!!

Time hop is so bittersweet right?

Connor started soccer and scored a goal his very first game!  So proud of our little Believers.  He’s on the same team as a few of the boys he went to Pre-K with and it’s so nice to see them all again.

A Valentine Tale of Long Ago…

It’s Valentine’s day weekend y’all and for the love of all things Godiva, Starbucks, and Kendra Scott please get your sweetheart something special!

I remember my first Valentine’s day with T.  We were 19 years old and had only been dating a couple of months.  That boy was seriously obsessed with me…I mean who wouldn’t be right?  I remember the first time he asked me out I was like “Well, if you want you can come to my house and watch a movie with me and my Mom”.  I felt bad for him, he knew no one because he was a Texan in the middle of Arkansas…he was a foreigner for goodness sake.

Then when he did come over I made him watch Romy & Michelle‘s Highschool Reunion”.  I mean….he even pretended to feign interest.  So, after that night we were pretty much attached.  We talked for hours about so much random stuff.

Fast forward a couple of months later to our first Valentine’s day and I bought him a pillow with kisses all over it then I spelled out “I LOVE YOU” with glow in the dark stars on his dorm room wall.  So, every time he turned off the lights he would see my profession of undying love right there in front of his face.

#TRUELOVE

This picture was on film people…it’s amazing I still have a replica of college days including the pillow case with kisses. 16 years ago….seriously?

You know how much I loooooove my chocolate.  Terence had gone home a couple of months earlier for Christmas and he brought me back a HUGE box of Godiva chocolates.  Not Hershey’s, no ladies…. G-O-D-I-V-A.  There wasn’t a store in the entire state of Arkansas that sold Godiva & it was gold…..GOLD I tell you!  He had me at chocolate and ya know he may have said I love you back.  ðŸ™‚

I remember our first Valentine’s day as a married couple.  We had been married about 6 months and Terence was in the Air Force.  We lived in our cute little base house straight out of 1972.  All of the sudden T had to run to the “mall” to get something.  Ahem….okay Captain Obvious.  He came home with a pair of diamond earrings.  I just about died.  At a time when we didn’t have two nickels to rub together and he bought me earrings….

Now days it’s like…well I was thinking of getting you something, but I put money in our IRA instead.  How romantic, you shouldn’t have.

Please never stop thinking it’s okay to let “It’s the thought that counts” be okay!!!  NO NO NO!

I need to try too…it’s not all on men.  I’m guilty (insert shame face).

Ladies, you need to work it honey.

Okay, so there’s my little Valentine’s tale of T+B = <3

funny.pho.to_loving_you

I LOVE YOU TER-BER!!!

I don’t know what we are doing this year, but it usually involves take-out and a Redbox movie.  Babysitters are so expensive…anyone wanna babysit??? *cough*

I can’t wait for girls night Friday and the cat claws that come out….literally.

Oh and this is pure greatness….the love chair in Branson, Missouri.

Scan_Pic0030

As long as we are walking down memory lane here….I can’t believe we have this beautiful boy.  Sometimes I pinch myself.  How did we get so lucky?

(Connor’s first Valentine’s day 2011)

Watch out girls he’s coming for you!

ANSWER —-> Are we going to have anymore babies???  I get that a lot…and the answer is no, sometimes maybe…usually I don’t know.  If it’s God’s plan.  I have a good 50 pounds of FOOD baby to lose before that’s even a consideration.  I’m about to be 35 and I think I am good.  Yup.

I love photographing and smelling babies.  So, if you ever want to hand yours over for a while let me know 😉

Anyway…I guess that’s all for today.  What are y’all going to do for Valentine’s day?

Chocoholics Anonymous

I got a Fitbit about a year ago and at first I was TOTALLY into it.  Well, fast forward to this year I found it collecting dust in a bathroom drawer.  I dusted off my Fitbit in January and have been wearing it every day since (unless it’s charging).

Last night I did 10,000 steps when Terence persuaded me to go to the high school track and do laps.  I’m glad he did…but today I’m hurting like an old gray mare.  UGH.

It sure is fun to eat that pint of Ben & Jerry’s, but it sucks to get rid of that spare tire I now have around my mid section.

I just started thinking of chocolate…and now I’m thinking of the Valentine’s day Starbucks drink that just came out.  The Molten Hot Chocolate.  See….I have a one track mind.

I want to be gorgeous and skinny, but really…

Speaking of Rebel Wilson, I cannot wait for girl’s night out this weekend to see “How To Be Single”.  I’m sure behind the scenes Rebel gave Dakota Johnson all sorts of heck for “Fifty Shades of Grey”  Can you imagine those jokes?

What are y’all doing for Valentine’s Day?  I bought myself a new Kate Spade courtesy of Ter-Bear.  I mean he asks why I need so many purses, but I switch them out and purses ALWAYS fit.  It’s a win/win.  Kate Spade sale going on HERE lady friends!

Connor’s 100th day of school was last week and they were asked to dress like old folks.  Isn’t he the cutest?  He looks just like the old man in the movie UP.  All he needs is some balloons and a walker with tennis balls.

(I told him to make an old man face…this is what I got)

The stinking Target $1 spot gets me every time.  I love using glitter in my photos, so I picked up some of the glitter bottles.  Washi tape for Valentines, and notepad from Paperchase (I love that Target is carrying Paperchase!)

These little lights were in the $1 spot too for $3.  Connor is afraid of the dark a lot right now, so I bought these and put them on his bookshelf next to his bed.  It looks really cute too!  I used the teeny tiny Command hooks to attach to the bookshelf.

BBP_4899

BBP_4900

See, isn’t that cute!

BBP_4905

I also got Connor a pair of fake glasses like his Daddy’s.  He said they help him see better.  I didn’t tell him they were fake obviously…I hope he doesn’t really need glasses for a long while.

Here is our apartment 🙂

This XOXO banner was $6 at Target and I’m sure I’ll use it for future photo shoots as well!
