Texas Christmas (Not What I Imagined)

So, Connor is finally at the age where he understands Christmas and the joy and wonder are transparent in this little human being.  We had a great time in Arkansas, and we had more Christmas plans when we returned to Texas.  Unfortunately Connor got sick.  Like….really sick.  My sweet hubby stayed home with him on Thursday and Friday so I could get back to work.  Terence took him to the Doctor on Friday for an x-ray and breathing treatment.    He tested negative for the flu and strep.  I am not sure what he has, just that he’s congested and has a high fever.

Saturday morning I woke up feeling like poo.  The sickness hits our household hard at least once a year…..geesh.  I called Connor’s school and his teacher told me almost every kid was absent.  So something has got to be going around right?  All of that said our Christmas plans were not as we’d imagined, but we were together as a family and that’s the most important thing.  Connor got a new bike and some toys, Terence got me a new digital tablet I’d been wanting, and my sweet in-laws brought us some yummy food since we couldn’t be with them.

So, it may have not been the Christmas I’d imagined….but it was a blessing to be together & celebrate Jesus birth.

My little sick guy.D7K_3310 Trying to get the hang of my new tablet 🙂

An Arkansas Christmas 2013

Last week Connor and I headed to Arkansas for an early Christmas with my Mom, Dad, sister, Nannie, and many family & friends.  Connor did great on the drive, he’s such a good little guy 🙂

We are so blessed to have the most beautiful place on Earth (in my opinion) to spend Christmas at.  Nannie and Papa’s farm will always hold a special place in our hearts.  So many memories over my lifetime were spent there and I hope Connor has the same wonderful memories.

It’s hard living away from your family and friends, but that just makes the times you do get together extra special.  Bonnie and I went out to dinner one night with our good friends from highschool.  Mom, Bonnie, and I spent a few girls days together shopping.  Then we headed to the farm for Christmas celebrations & Jarrett’s 4th birthday.

So, here are some pictures from the trip…there are lots…but I’d rather have too many than too little!

Yes…that’s right Bonnie’s engaged!  I’m trying to get her back into blogging….we shall see!  Vinny gave her the most gorgeous ring.  Very excited and pray that God blesses this marriage. D7K_28281471978_10152056999090860_890560911_n D7K_2795 D7K_2788Bon and I taking pictures! D7K_2781Ready to open presents! D7K_2800 D7K_2810The boys and Nannie Sue

We’ve had a bout of sickness in our house.  Yesterday we were stuck in the house all day and Connor didn’t even want to open his presents poor little guy.  He’s been running a high fever and feeling awful.  I’ll recap on all that later….Hope you all had the best Christmas!!!  xoxo Becky

I’m so excited to tell you all that I’m launching an official photography site.  In 2014 I want to dive into photography a bit more.  I am not going to quit my day job….but….I do want to grow and learn.  Photography is something I really enjoy and the creative outlet it brings.  I adore watching families grow year after year….

If you are looking for a photographer in the DFW area I would be honored and blessed to work with you!

Check out the new site HERE  (I just started working on it today….so I may be making a few tweaks and adjustments along the way)

Crafting Sparkly Ornaments

D7K_2531
On the weekends I usually like to do a fun art project with Connor.  It’s our special time together, and I have always loved being creative.  So we decided to make some snowflake ornaments with Crayola Model Magic.  We just flattened out the model dough and then used a snowflake cookie cutter to make our ornaments.
D7K_2533 Then we let them dry for about 24 hours.  After that we added some sparkling gemstones and glitter glue to make them EXTRA sparkly 🙂D7K_2536 D7K_2547 D7K_2550 We also made a little bear that lives in the gingerbread house too.
D7K_2641
D7K_2552 Connor drew me a picture of a snow village with the Crayola Slick Stick Crayons.  These crayons are amazing and glide super smooth on paper.  We always break crayons, so I’m loving these because they are hard to break.D7K_2555 D7K_2561That’s my creative boy!  Look at that snow village right???  The kid has mad skills.D7K_2575
Here are our magical creations!  Aren’t they so pretty!  I just poked a hole through the top and tied some string to them & hung on the tree.  D7K_2646 D7K_2647 D7K_2649
