Weekend Wrap Up

It was in the 50’s today!!!  Which means everyone here in Texas is busting out their long johns because that compared to you Northerner’s weather is -30 for us!  I am sooooo ready for it to feel like fall!

We had a great weekend, but another busy one.  I’m overjoyed that so many people have asked me to do family photos for Christmas this year.  It blesses my heart and I’m thrilled!  I’ve met so many amazing families through doing pictures 🙂

I worked half a day today then I went to court.  If you remember way back on Valentine’s Day I got a speeding ticket.  Well, three hours later and I was given the option of a reduced fine and defensive driving course.  I’ll take it!  Just glad to have this over with…..I just don’t want to worry about that stupid ticket anymore.  Even though I know that I know that I know….I was not going that fast in a school zone.  Whatevs.

Okay here is a recap of our weekend!

Connor looking very GQ in his sweater 🙂
I got to take some pictures of 4 month old baby Allie.
She’s the daughter of one of my good friends at work.

We had some Raising Cane’s Chicken.  “Where the chicken is kickin and the sauce is boss” or “Hey hey hey would you like some chicken today?”  Some good eatin right there!

I changed the the chalkboard in the kitchen to a Christmas theme.  I found those chalkboard markers at Michael’s craft store and I love how they go on so smooth!  I’m slowing getting out all our Christmas decor….and I think this year we may get our first REAL Christmas tree!!!

I had Monday off work so Kindra and I (along with Connor) went shopping and ate some Mexican.  Kindra is so good with Connor and she’s become such a good friend over the past couple years.

Some things we found while shopping….

Big Betty:  Apparently she holds an ENTIRE bottle of wine….mercy!

Cute painted signs.  Love this stuff!

I also love this chalkboard sign/ornament.  Adorbs.
We did some more stuff this weekend…..we potty trained a bit.  That’s another story for another day.  It’s hilarious….I may save that for tomorrow. Gah…this potty training ain’t no joke!

The Bennett Family Sneak Peek

It was such a joy meeting Jessica and her boys.  They were such a sweet family and I hope we can hang out again soon!  Let me just say I’ve never seen a father and son with so much energy!!!  They were jumping in trees and climbing on logs.  Boys will be boys!  Ha ha!

I had so much fun and they are such a beautiful family!

 Jake

Yeah….I don’t think I could do this if I tried?

Sending LOTS more pics your way soon ya’ll….

Blurb {$50 Giveaway}

Blurb is a creative publishing platform that allows anyone to create, share and sell a professional quality book. Make a portfolio of your client work, an archive of your blog, a cook book of your favorite recipes, a photo book of your family pictures or a quick book of your instagram photos – the possibilities are limitless. It’s easy and quick to do – with a variety of software options you could complete your dream book in next to no time.

Once you’ve made your book you can share it with others on your Facebook/Twitter or website & blog- you can even sell it for profit.

I created a Blurb book a few weeks ago using my Facebook account.  I included all the photos I had uploaded the past couple years over Facebook.  This is such a neat feature because it includes all the comments from friends and family and I just loved reconnecting with those memories and photos!

Here is the cover of my Blurb album:

You can title it whatever you want 🙂

Here is an example of what the inside looks like.  It includes photos, comments, and commentary on the pictures.

I loved all the memories the Blurb book brought back.  While flipping through it I got to read all the things friends and family have said over the past few years.

I know this book will be something we can pass onto Connor and his family someday.

Awe..first airplane ride 🙂
Blurb books are so awesome!  Last year Terence surprised me with a Blurb book.  He created a book that included all the posts from my first year of blogging.  It meant so much to me that he put that together for me!   I love the fact that you can turn what you post on your blog & on Facebook into writing.  I know lots of Grandma’s and Grandpa’s who would love to receive a book of memories for Christmas this year.

Random Fidagle Daggle

Yes, the Christmas season is approaching….and I’m excited.  I have NOT forgotten about being thankful and Thanksgiving!  I just really love Christmas and that’s a personal thing.  Just ask my Mom and Dad they’ll vouch for my obsessive love for the Christmas season.  Now go away 80 degree weather!  Scat and don’t come back!

I really wanted to do the Polar Express this year….and I wanted C to wear his new jam jams…but I don’t know if that is going to happen???  Maybe next year?

I also got him his first nativity set.  I believe this is a new product by Melissa & Doug this year.  I really want to incorporate the true meaning of Christmas and I think he’ll have fun with this wooden nativity set.

Also, for the past 5 years I’ve been saying I wanted some moose mugs like the ones on Christmas Vacation.  I know that is crazy…but I just love that movie and the mugs make me think of the hilariousness of it all!

Did ya’ll see the Google art the other day?  One of my favorite things to do is check out the Google art each day.  It’s always a surprise.  They had Bob Ross!  We used to watch him paint on PBS all the time growing up at my Nannie and Papa’s house.  I still picture him painting his happy little trees, clouds, and pretty little mountains.  Love that they paid tribute to him 🙂

I also got these fabulous zig zag bangles from one of my new favorite stores KiKi La’Rue.

Aren’t they so cute!  I love the color combination and it can go with another pieces of jewelry you own: gold or silver.

I painted my nails rose gold.  I think the polish is from Orly.  Love the shimmer!

Hope you all are having a great week!!!
