Blueberry Boy

The other night we gave Connor some frozen blueberries to eat.  Can we say mess???
He got it all over his face, down his arms, and on his hands.  I eventually had to put him in the tub and let him soak a little bit.  He still looked like a little smurf though 😛  You can tell from the look on his face that he thoroughly enjoyed this experience.  Maybe a little too much…..
Poor little dude is getting his top two teeth in.  I know it had to have felt good on his gums.
We also celebrated Terence’s Grandma’s 85th birthday last weekend.  Happy birthday Grandma!!!
The girls at work and I started a contest to see who could walk the furthest in a month.  We all bought pedometers and are wearing them every day.  At the end of the month we are going to see who walked the furthest and wins the $$$!  Don’t they know I am going to New York in a couple weeks???  I have this in the bag yo! LOL!!!  We shall see….

A Winner, A Blessing, & A Few Prayer Requests

Okay –

First of all I want to apologize because I never did announce the winner of the Tic Tac Toe Giveaway!  I am so behind I should slap myself 😛  The winner is #25

Email me at beckylbranch@gmail.com with your address!
I’m so excited today because one of my prayers have been answered!  Megan and Brent are expecting baby #2 and I am over the moon excited for them 🙂  I know they’ve been in everyone’s prayers over the past year and God is so good!  Thank you Lord for this blessing in their lives!
I also have a few prayer requests:
Terence’s Granddaddy is having another surgery on his head again this morning.  I ask that you pray for healing and specifically that the tumor has not spread to his brain.  We love our Granddaddy so much!
My best blog buddy Summer has been on my mind a lot lately.  I’ve been praying for her to receive the child God has specifically picked out for her and Adam.  I can’t think of two better parents for a child to have.  In my heart I know that baby is out there somewhere and just waiting to unite with them 🙂
I pray that the adoption journey they have embarked on will be short and that God will bring a child into their hearts and home soon!  If you would like to spread the word please help by placing a link to their adoption site on your blog.
We can’t wait to come see you in a couple weeks Summer and Adam!
Love, Becky

I’M HAVING TROUBLE WITH COMMENTS LATELY THROUGH BLOGGER.  NOT WITH MY BLOG, BUT WITH YOURS
  • For some reason when I visit other people’s blogs and the comments are in pop up form it’s not working for me and I am unable to leave a comment.
  • If the comment form is embedded then I am able to comment.
Has anyone else had these issues?  I know a lot of you like the pop up window better…but it doesn’t work for me and it’s driving me NUTS!

Weekend Wrap Up

It’s been a crazy busy weekend…but what weekends aren’t these days?  My house is never clean anymore and I just finished my 4th load of laundry…sigh.  Eventually I’ll start to feel organized again I hope!
I’m thankful for the mountains of laundry and all the lost tiny socks.  I’m thankful for a sleepless night because of a teething baby…there are lots of people out there who are longing for those things.  Who dream of those “problems” if you will.  I remember what it feels like to long for motherhood….I know this blog has a LOT of pictures of Connor and looking at them you may think “Gosh doesn’t she have anything else to talk about or take pictures of!” The truth is Terence and Connor are my life along with all the good, the bad, and the ugly.  I can’t change that, I can’t not feel what I feel for these people I love, I have to live my own life without regret…. and this is my life now.
I enjoy taking pictures of him.  Pictures are my memories.  Even now I catch myself looking at the picture folder labeled “Connor” on the desktop and wondering where all the time has gone?  I get so caught up with the little tasks of the day and my own selfish needs I never want to forget….this is what I wanted so badly.  When I whine and complain about a crying baby or Terence does something I don’t like I just have to remember that.  I wouldn’t change if for the world.  The dark circles under my eyes, the smell of diapers in the air, the stains on my carpet all remind me that my home is full…..and I am blessed.
I am continuously praying for all of you longing for these things.  I can say “I know” and “I can relate”…..but until those prayers are answered for you I know that you think “Well her prayers were answered why aren’t mine???”  I can’t answer that.  I know how I would feel….hurt, angry, bitterness.  These things can eat you up inside, and they were starting to in my own life.  Life can change in an instant.  All I know is God has an ultimate plan beyond our own understanding, and His plan is better than any plan we could have mapped out ourselves.
xoxo Becky

1 Year Ago Today

Happy Birthday my sweet boy!

Connor-

Today you are one year old.  I cannot tell you enough how much joy and love you have brought into our lives this past year.  It’s been so exciting every day watching you grow and learn something new and seeing the world through your eyes.  It’s definitely been the most challenging year we’ve ever had, but we wouldn’t change it for the world.  Every day is a new adventure and I never knew I could feel such love in my heart. We love you to the moon and back!

PLEASE DO THIS IF YOU COMMENT ON BLOGS!

I love giving and receiving comments on blogs but sometimes I cannot respond to people for this reason….they don’t have their EMAIL linked to their blogs/comments.

Go read Karen’s post HERE and see how you can quickly and easily fix this problem!

Also- if you change your comment box to embedded in the page instead of a pop up box that helps too!  If you make these changes I will love you forever 🙂

Thanks!

A Bunch of Stuff & A New Recipe

My talented twinkie made these shirts for Connor last night.  Aren’t they so cute!  If you would like for her to make you some contact her HERE.  I think they will be perfect for St. Patrick’s Day 🙂
Isn’t this the most precious Louis Vuitton you have EVER seen?
It’s an owl 🙂
What would a blog post be without a few pictures for the Grandparents?
This little booger has been into everything lately I cannot keep my eyes off him for a second!
He tries so hard to walk.  Connor can take about 4-5 steps and then he sikes himself out and falls over.
But try try again we will…..

I must STOP eating Thin Mints…darn girl scouts 😛

Bonnie and I were girl scouts for years so I have a little soft spot for them.  We went door to door in our neighborhood every year. The poor folks would do a double take when they saw TWO of us standing there with pigtails in our uniforms.  Of course they had to buy from both to keep it fair.

Also – A pic of my shorter hair
What do ya’ll think?  It feels a lot better…it was getting so dry and tangled.
I am not one of those people who gets attached to their hair so I have no problem whacking it off!

Tried a new recipe last night :

Enchilada-zagna

Ingredients

2 to 3 cooked, boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, cut into small pieces (about 3 cups), divided
1 can (28 oz.) or 2 cans (15 oz. each) mild red enchilada sauce
1 container (8 oz.) sour cream
1 can (12 fl. oz.) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
2 cups (8-oz. pkg.) shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (4 oz.) diced green chilies, undrained
1 pkg. (12 tortillas) 7-inch corn tortillas

(I added corn and black beans to my meat mixture)

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 350º F. Grease 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
COMBINE enchilada sauce and sour cream in medium bowl. Combine evaporated milk, cheese and chiles in medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until cheese has melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.

SPREAD 1 cup enchilada sauce mixture on bottom of prepared baking dish. Layer with 4 tortillas, 1 cup enchilada sauce mixture, 1 1/2 cups chicken, 1 cup cheese sauce; repeat layers one more time, starting with tortillas. Top with remaining tortillas, enchilada sauce mixture and cheese sauce. Cover with foil.

BAKE for 40 minutes. Uncover; cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

HILARIOUS!!!

Crazy Folk

Last weekend I was texting my Dad who was visiting my Aunt Mary and cousins in Alma, AR.
Anyway, I texted him the first picture of Connor making a silly face puckering his lips.
Dad texted me back with a picture of my Aunt, then a picture of both cousins trying to make the exact same face as Connor!  It cracked me up!  I miss my Arkansas fam so bad they are silly folks:)

AMAZON ORDER *FAIL*

See the cute owl key covers below?
Those are the key covers I ordered on Amazon last week……

And these beauties are the actual key covers I recieved in the mail!
They are called “DooKeys” “The right poo for you!”
WTH???
I immediately wrote an email to the seller explaining I didn’t order the “Doo” key covers and I had wanted the owl ones.  He responded with an attached packing slip and said he was sorry and that they had trouble getting inventory for my item so they sent those instead???  Hello???  That’s nice of you to tell me after you ship the order….I am just going to keep the “Doo” covers because I don’t want to deal with shipping them back and nobody will really know what they are supposed to be right?  Icing, whipped cream, a pile of something?
What’s Ya’lls worst Internet screw up?  I’d love to hear the stories 😛
