Weekend Stuff

Yesterday Terence and I went to Barnes and Noble and picked out some baby/parenting books to read.  Last night we lit a fire and just sat on the sofa and read about what is to come.  We signed up for a breastfeeding class on Thursday night, THREE hours long!  What?  Is it that much info?  Hmmmm…
Should be interesting and I hope to learn from it.
Here is the book Terence picked out to read 🙂
Here are the ones I got
A breastfeeding book (very good so far!) & a book called The Baby Whisperer that Laura recommended.
AND-We both got new phones yesterday!
Woohoo!  We now have the internet on our phones!  I think we were the last in my family at least to jump on that wagon.  It’s really cool and I’m still figuring it out, but I think it’s going to be lots of fun!
It’s the Droid, which is Verizon’s version of the IPhone…..
And last but not least we’ve been hit up by the girl scouts….these things are BAAAD!  I love the thin mints myself!
Today we’ve been trying to figure out these new phones and my feet are so swollen I can barely walk!  My ankle is KILLING me!  I long for the day when I can feel 100% again. I just hope Connor comes soon, this is wearing me out!  I just sent Terence to Target with a list for groceries…he HATES to shop alone…poor guy…oh well…I’m gonna need help these last few weeks so he may be doing most of that stuff for a bit.  Until tomorrow…nighty night!

  1. My husband and I both have Droids…we got ours back in December. So far we love them! I love that I can listen to music on it…now I don’t have to take an ipod and a phone to gym. Great books you all picked out! Good luck with the breastfeeding and if you really want to do it just try and stick with it. I had such a hard delivery and lost my patience with it and gave up after a week or so. I regret that I didn’t give it longer. My friends that have stuck with it said it was wonderful. Oh well…either way things work out. These next few weeks will fly by and the baby will be here before you know it 🙂

  2. Ohhh Girl Scout cookies! Samoas are my fav! Stay off your feet and just take it easy. I think reading and playing with your new phone sound like a perfect way to do that.

  3. I can’t order GS cookies… cuz I can eat a box of Thin Mints in the blink of an eye!

I love the little hat you got Connor on Etsy. SO sweet.

  4. Girl, believe it or not, breastfeeding is really hard. They’ll give you lots of tips and tricks and methods so that you won’t be as frustrated when it comes time. It’ll help. I was seriously SHOCKED with my first at how hard it was. If I hadn’t gotten a one on one lesson with the lactation specialist, I’d have quit before we left the hospital. UGH! So good luck with the class! You won’t regret it! 🙂

  5. My best advice for BF’ing – get as MUCH help from the in-hospital lactation consultant as possible. Do not be afraid to have her in your room as much as possible, and do NOT be afraid to pick her brain and have her show you everything she knows. My hospital incidentally fired their lactation consultant two days before I gave birth, I had to go see another one across town, but she was a tremendous help and encouragement, even though she didn’t really tell me anything I didn’t already know- she just reaffirmed things. If you have a c-section, get that baby to the breast asap!

I sooo remember sending Hubby to the store alone, and I hated it! I wanted to nest so bad, but I couldn’t!

  6. I still don’t have internet on my phone. Makes me feel very lame.

And how ever will I be able to function if I have a real job with no internet connection (such jobs DO still exist!).

    Oy.

    Hang in there mamma!!

  7. I heard The Baby Whisperer was good. And my 4 month old neice puts herself to bed like a pro and sleeps all night, so it comes highly recommeded by my SIL.

  8. I just got a Droid too! Mine is the bigger bulkier one… but I like the keypad. I’m liking it better than my Blackberry so far. I also have Verizon so the iphone is out. My only complaints so far are the battery life and not being able to synch my yahoo email accounts!

Hang in there, keep the tootsies up & keep readin’!

  9. Oo sounds like a good weekend! Two of my younger cousins are in Girl Scouts so we bought cookies from both of them. Can’t wait to get ’em! 🙂
