How Do You #QuakerUp & Giveaway!

Last week a small group of moms, including me, got to be a part of an exciting video chat with celebrity Brooke Burke.  She was at Sundance Film Festival representing Quaker Oats & Human Energy Crisis live from the Quaker Good Energy Lodge.  The short video gives you a glimpse into the life of busy moms who do not want to miss a moment of what truly matters. With good energy, they are able to do what matters to them.

Talking to Brooke was a breeze.  She was so down to earth and we all got to ask questions.   She told us about her diet and exercise regimen.  She talked about how she stays healthy and energized & how she balances 4 kids and maintains a strong marriage all at the same time.  It was great hearing her thoughts on the energy crisis and we all got a little glimpse into her lifestyle.  Thank you Quaker Oats for inviting me in on this exciting opportunity!

I’ve been loving my new “Quaker” hat

  1. If it’s warm enough, I take a glass of iced coffee out back and read for a bit. If it’s chilly, I take hot coffee!

  2. Recharge myself by not putting my self down and accepting myself as who I am and continue to enjoy being retired. I also go to bed about the same time every night and get up same time every morning to no alarm and I eat breakfast about an hour after I get up and I love Quaker Instant Oatmeal

  3. On mornings when I feel particularly sluggish I will usually walk to work. A nice walk in the cool morning air wakes you up and energizes you.

  4. I hit a “wall” every day between 3-4 p.m. My job consists of being “on the go and on the phone” constantly. I have found the best way to re-charge is a cup of black coffee, turn my phone off, and take 15-20 minutes to read “thejavamam.com” and other fun blogs. It gets my mind off of my work which is a welcoming mind set before heading home 🙂

  5. With two kids five years apart (22 months and 7 so very different places in life needs and wants), a husband who is a retail manager and works 45 minutes away, being PTA president , and teaching 2 year olds 3 days a week at Mother’s Day out, I’ve had to learn to take some time for me…saying no sometimes, making sure the girls go down at a set time so I can take a bath, read a book, enjoy a glass of wine, watch my favorite shows; these are some of my favorite ways to take me time. I also get up a few minutes before everyone to enjoy a cup of coffee, read a little in the am, pray and get my day started relaxed and positive.

  6. I recharge with an iced coffee and reading a good book once my sweet baby girl goes down for her morning nap.

  7. I go to the gym and have a cup of coffee after to recharge. I was at sundance this year and saw Brooke she is so gorgeous.
