Finish This Link-Up: Week 3

1. A typical day in my life …

Is crazy town.  We wake up.  My husband has a 2 hour commute every day to and from Plano.  He’s usually out the door when me and Connor get up.  I take a shower, get dressed, and then get Connor ready too.  It’s always a struggle getting him ready without throwing a fit.  We won’t mention how last week I completely forgot to put my makeup on! Ahhhh!!!! Then after work I go pick up Connor from school and we head home.  Terence makes it home and we all put on our comfy clothes.  Watch a TV show or two to relax….then play a little bit, get ready for bed, and say prayers.  REPEAT tomorrow.  (There’s a lot more- but that’s the cliffnotes version)

2. You’ll never see me … Speaking in front of a large crowd.  I have major anxiety and I HATE a lot of beady eyeballs on me.  UGH.  Shoot me now.

3. It’s really unattractive when a guy … Farts within 10 inches of me.  EWE.  Or is lazy and doesn’t want to contribute to the household or a relationship.  That really erks me.

4. If I could buy one thing right now, it would be … A new house.  A house closer to my husband’s work so that we could spend more time together.  We are hoping to put our house on the market this year.  We will see how it goes.  If only money grew on trees right???

5. I have high expectations for … Myself.  I am harder on myself than anyone else.  Also, my son.  I hope he grows up to be a good & Godly man.  That’s what I pray every day for him.

Five on Friday: Valentine’s Edition

I ordered Connor’s Valentine’s cards for his class today from Cardstore.  There is a link to it on the right hand sidebar with a great coupon code.  I think I paid like $12 for his whole class 🙂

What are y’alls plans for the weekend???

Things I Must Share with YOU!

First of all I don’t want you to forget to sign up for this fab event in the Fort Worth area. It’s going to be so much fun! unnamedConnor’s been having so much fun on his new bike.  He’s getting really good at balancing.  I’m glad we got this bike before one with training wheels because he learns to balance before peddling.

The suckers came in from Amazon for our Valentine treats.  I was a little worried because some of the reviews said the suckers got broken.  Mine came in and I didn’t have a single broken sucker!!!! Yay!

Last weekend when I was at the Kiki La’Rue sale I also got some necklaces from The Shine Project and I LOVE them!  It’s for a great cause too.  All the jewelry is made by kids and the money goes towards their college educations.

A few weeks ago we got to try some Chisholm Trail beef.  It was so good!  Terence made street tacos with it.  The beef was super lean and great quality.  Chisholm Trail Beef is 100% grass-fed on local Texas ranches. Their ranchers are committed to preserving the real taste of delicious, natural beef and the old-fashioned principles of caring for livestock and land. At Chisholm Trail, we add zero hormones, no unnecessary antibiotics and not one animal ever sees a factory farm or feedlot. Y’all should definitely try it!D7K_3383D7K_3377How’s your week going???

Finish This Link Up Week 2

1. If I could make anything grow on trees, it would be…

I’m not going to lie and say it would have a tree that grew a bunch of Benjamins.  That or Godiva truffles would be AWESOME sauce!

2. I can’t stop smiling…
When someone does something that embarrasses me or makes me laugh I just can’t stop giggling and laughing AND smiling.  I also smile when someone gives me a compliment….that’s the sweetest thing and I try to compliment others as well.  It makes people’s day.
3. I get back to nature by…
We love to go hiking as a family.  Especially when the weather is cooler.  We won’t talk about the time when Terence and I got seperated and I was alone on a trail in 110 degree heat without water or food for almost an hour.  I just about DIED!
4. I dread washing…
Poopy underwear or pants.  OMG. Gross….I’d rather just throw them in the trash at that point.

We Can’t Live Without Peanut Butter! #MC

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Smucker’s. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.”

D7K_3505Living in a home with a 3-year-old it’s tough to get him to eat enough protein or ANYTHING for that matter.  Connor loves peanut butter, I think we have at least 3 jars right now!  Maybe I’m afraid of running out?

He has peanut butter & apples or peanut butter & jelly at least a couple of times a week. Our favorite brand is Laura Scudder’s – he absolutely loves it. And what’s even better is that this January, Smucker’sLaura Scudder’s and Adams Natural Peanut Butter have teamed up to support the national parks through a $100,000 donation to the National Parks Conservation Association’s (NPCA) America’s Great Waters Program.

Starting in January, look for the .25 cent-off coupons on shelves in your local stores towards the purchase of a jar of natural peanut butter. For every coupon redeemed by March 24, 2014, Smucker’s will donate $1 to the NPCA, up to an additional $50,000. In the meantime, check out the Smucker’s Naturals Facebook page for ways you can make a difference in your community this year. I hope you all can join in this great cause too!
