I know a lot of you have heard of one of my favorite stores KiKi La’Rue.
Seriously y’all this is the most comfortable, soft, flowy dress I’ve owned. I need to hem it a bit, but I could wear it all day long. All of Kiki La’Rue clothing is like this….super soft, trendy, and comfortable. That Becka has a good eye! You can dress this up or down. I can wear it to work or out on a date for the weekend. It’s amazeballs and I love it. 
What clothing items can you not live without this summer?
Thanks to those who commented on my blubber post below. When I post pictures of myself on this blog it’s always ones I like or I think I look best in. Of course who would want a horrible picture of them up on the Internet for everyone to see? I know how to pose at a flattering angle or crop in a way I don’t look fat. Everyone is their worst critic. I could tell you a million things I’m not happy with about my body right now….but it’s mostly a mind game. There is no quick fix, special pill, or diet. I think a lot of how you feel about yourself on the outside comes from how you feel on the inside. I give myself a hard time if I mess up or do something stupid, and food is a comfort. That pint of Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food….uhm hello? Makes me feel good for the moment….
Over the years you learn about your body. How it absorbs things and handles different foods. I know carbs are not my friend. However, I don’t eat a lot of meat….only chicken and bacon. I’m probably the heaviest almost-vegetarian out there! Chocolate is a continuous temptation as well. I have a candy dish on my desk at work all the time. I need to get that as far away as possible. If I can’t see it, then it’s out of sight & out of mind.
Terence and I have been doing okay eating this week. I had a very light dinner tonight, I did that mostly because I went out to eat (veggie sandwich) and ate candy while at work. Dang. I’ll pick back up tomorrow. I know I need to do better at drinking more water and I want to try and do the Advocare cleanse again. Last time I did well, lost about 5 lbs. It wasn’t the best time because I had a vacation planned and my birthday fell in that time period. Hence several birthday desserts later…..fail.
Anyway, thanks for the kind words of encouragement. I know so many other women especially deal with self image issues. I don’t think I’m in a terrible spot right now, but I’m also at a point where I need to make a change and decide what to do. I want to live a long and healthy life, watch my kid(s) grow up, and celebrate my 70th wedding anniversary. I want to do this for me so I can feel better on the inside and out.
Okay, done with my rant.
On another note, I am LOVING my new cross body bag. I have always adored this brand called Latico Leather. They had a sale a while back on Zulily and I got a great deal on it. The leather is SO soft and lightweight. I cannot stand purses that are heavy and weigh you down. This is the perfect weight and it’s so cute 🙂

With Connor out of town for the next couple of weeks Terence and I are going to try to kick start getting healthy again. I’m just sick of being tired, lazy, and fat. I’m not happy with my body right now and what better opportunity than the present. My weight is an on-going struggle. I’ve discussed it before on here. Severe obesity runs in my family and I don’t want to end up like that…..but I’m already slowly headed down that path.
So, when Kristen decided to run a fitness contest I thought why not? I need motivation and someone to kick my butt. So I’m going to start the 30 day shred and do my yoga. Eat better and be mindful of what goes in my mouth. Hoping at the end of all this I can win that big ole pot of moolah and even if I don’t at least be one step closer to being a MILF.

Connor is enjoying a little R&R with Nana & Poppy right now. I’m sure he’s soaking it up and loving every minute. I wish I was there getting some spoiled rotten-ness too 🙂
Hopefully he doesn’t come home too spoiled, but according to my parents it’s a grandparent’s right. I don’t know if I’m going to last 2 whole weeks of him being gone…..I’ve already cleaned the house and done all the OCD stuff I can do! Well, I better go get ready for work….it’s so QUIET in the house!

We took Connor to see Despicable Me 2 last Friday and he loved every minute of it. It was a really cute movie, I loved the first one and this one was just as cute. Connor will be visiting his Nana & Poppy in AR for 2 weeks! I don’t know if I can take him being gone that long, but I know it’s a great chance for them to bond and get to know each other better. He will also get to spend some QT with his cousin Jarrett. I just hope he doesn’t come back spoiled rotten!

I love anything, everything, and all things SPARKLE.
We had a heck of a storm here yesterday. It was sunny and hot and then….BOOM. Flash flood! It was really heavy and even knocked a bunch of trees down. Then on my way home it all of a sudden just stopped. Crazy.

Last day I’ll be sitting in this chair….start a new job with the same company next week! Or going back to my old one….whatever you want to call it 🙂 Glad I’ll still be amongst those I love at my company.

I may have said in my last post I had a bit of an obsession with pens/markers/pencils….
This is true. I love a good marker. I recently got to try out the new Infinity Permanent Markers. They come the a great range of colors so you will be all set to get your crafts going!
One of the first things I like to do when I try out a new marker is write in all different colors, fonts, and speeds to check out how it flows and see if I like it. I don’t have the best handwriting, but you get the picture. It was fun playing around. I must say they did write really smooth and the colors were great!

Well, since I had all these fun markers to play around with I thought I would make something fun for Connor. We are in the car a lot and of course he always wants a snack. I decided to make him a snack bin for his goldfish. I let him pick out the container and then he helped me figure out what he wanted on it 🙂
So this is what we came up with! It’s a cute little container with his name and perfect for his goldfish snacks. He loves it and he thinks it’s so cool that his Mommy made it for him. The markers went on super smooth and I had this project done in no time. I didn’t have to go over and over it. I just colored on the clear plastic once and that’s all it took.

Lord knows my mind is all kinds of random. Sometimes it’s just easier to post random stuff that’s been hanging around in your head than it is to come up with a clever, tidy blog post.
I think 4 people I know had babies today. That is random.
Here is my little BACHELOR. (3 and younger ladies) I love Red 21 Boys. It’s one of my favorite stores to shop for boy clothing and they constantly have amazing sales. 
I saw these Barbies the other day and I thought of how much Bonnie and I would have LOVED playing with them. A space Barbie….who knew?
I was cleaning out my desk at work and came home with all these pens. I think I have a pen addiction. I can’t go into Target or Walmart without buying new pens to try because it just might be the best pen I’ve ever had. 
My Mom gave me this cookbook for my birthday. She said it looked like me 🙂 I can’t wait to try some fun stuff out in it soon!
Connor’s school had a puppetere come and do a show for them today. I ran up there to crash the party & take some pictures. The kids absolutely loved it and he did a great job!
I got my July Birchbox in today. I LOVE this lipstick. Usually I am picky about lipsticks because they can taste like wax or wierd tasting….but this went on so smooth and tasted great!

Terence and I have been watching Stephen King’s The Dome this summer. It’s pretty good so far, crazy, but good! What do you expect from Stephen King? It sucks you in and now I can’t stop watching because I have to see what happens to this town…..eeeeek! It’s so hot I am dying. I try to pick out a shirt every morning that won’t show pit stains. It sucks. Ugh. Well, I better get some rest before work tomorrow!
