Swapping Fall Goodies + A Treat

I participated in a fall swap earlier this month.  My precious partner was Allie.  She did an AMAZING job!

OMG Allie everything you chose I loved.  I’ve already worn the scarf to work and got several compliments on it.  I mean she hooked me up!  LOVE this Harvest sign, bakery goods, earrings, and nail polish too!

Smells soooooo good!

Happy last day of summer and welcome FALL!!!

Show Us Your Life Singles!!!

This is my dear friend Amber.

She’s been such a great friend to me since I’ve been in Texas.  She is one of those people who within 5 minutes you feel like you’ve known them for 5 years. She’s so kind and funny, I could go on and on!

  • Amber is 28-29???  I don’t know but she’s a few years younger than me 😛
  • She’s the awesome Mom of two boys {Kylon + Kayden}
  • She works a full time job and still manages to put a hot meal on the table most nights…something I struggle with daily.
  • She loves to bake and decorate.
  • She is a coffee lover, crafter, and downright awesome gal!!!
A little history:

Sadly, early this year tragedy struck her family.  Amber’s husband, Brett, was killed in a motorcycle accident.  She is one of the most loving and strong people I’ve ever known.  Any guy that gets this gal is one LUCKY dude.  She’s just beyond words beautiful and amazing!  To have gone through what she has gone through and persevere is beyond me.

(Yes-she does know I am doing this….we talked about it prior to this post 🙂

So without further ado….

Meet Amber.

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Frizz Control

Okay I am embarrassed I’m even posting this picture of myself.  But this is how my crazy hair truly is!  If you’ve seen my 2 year old’s fro then here’s where he gets it from…..
Sorry kid.
I’ve been straightening my hair and fighting my curl since the early teen years.  I always wanted straight hair instead of the poodle puff I was born with.  I know some people pay for curls…but you always want what you don’t have right???
Excuse my red eyes, horrible allergies lately.  And I literally just rolled out of bed when I took this picture :/
I’ve been an avid hair straightener for 15+ years.  When Misikko Hana Salon asked me if I would like to try out their Croc Hair Straightener I was like “heck yes”!!!
I really love this straightener.  I am not just saying that ya’ll.  I’ve gone through 3 Chi irons and one other brand.  I’ve now replaced my Chi with the Croc Straightener.  I like how you can control the temperature of the iron on the dial.  I also liked that it’s shorter in length, which is great when you are trying to control shorter pieces of hair.
Great iron holder when traveling.
I always stick mine in while still hot because I never let it cool down!
Well, the proof is in the picture!
I love the results I got using the Croc Hair Straightener & know you will too 🙂

He’s a Model!

Look at that boogie in the left hand corner???

Connor is officially signed!  We are so excited, he loves the camera.  At his age he’ll only be doing catalog and print.  But this should be an exciting time and we’ll see what happens 🙂

I know ya’ll probably think I am koo koo for Cocoa Puffs…but I am so excited and so is Connor!

Love you my angel baby.  You are truly a blessing and a gift from God!

Band-It

Growing out my hair from the spring cut I got earlier this year has not been easy!  It looked great when it was style and fixed right, but honestly I miss my ponytail.

I’ve been wearing it all sorts of ways, right now my hair is not long enough for a ponytail.  My bangs are in that in between phase.  I bought some skinny headbands and it’s helped a lot.  I am liking this look for now as my hair is in this funky state.

These were $6 at Ulta and the colors are great 🙂

Do ya’ll have any tips when growing out your hair???

Monday Gobbledy Goop

This past weekend I spent a lot of time sleeping in and laying around in my jammies…..it was awesome.
Disclaimer:  Regarding yesterday’s post: I am not condoning diet pills are the answer to all your weight loss issues at ALL.  I am just saying I’m going to try it and see how it goes ALONG with a sensible diet and exercise.  I was doing Paleo….it was rather hard for me as I do not eat meat and get my protein from other sources such as greek yogurt, cottage cheese, nuts, peanut butter, etc.
Speaking of eating issues:
I can’t get this kid to eat anything but macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese, or chicken and fries.  Is this normal?  Is this just a phase.  We had a crying fit last night because he wouldn’t eat the lasagna I made….I mean as long as he’s getting a veggie I am fine with whatever.  I just want him to get enough nutrition.  He still will ONLY eat those pureed veggies in the pouches too…..UGH… feeding a 2 year old is rough yo!
Pointers….anyone….anyone????
Furbys are back.  OMG.  These things scared the crap out of me when I was younger.  They reminded me of that movie Gremlins.  I couldn’t sleep for weeks.  I do recall these monsters would go off while I was sleeping and make funky noises too.  Did ya’ll have one???
They are like $54 dollars????
WTHECK???
I don’t remember them being that expensive?
Aren’t these the cutest stamps?
Actually they may not have been that brilliant of an idea because Connor thinks they are stickers :/

I am a BLONDIE again!!! Thanks to my fabulous friend and hairstylist Jenne-if you ever want her info she is so nice and will do you good!

My Dad used to get us these clown cones from Baskin Robbins.  Memories aaaaahhhh!!!
It was so cute Connor loved it….but a super duper mess indeed!

We went looking at some new homes across the street from our neighborhood. They were beautiful! I love this house, the details in the kitchen were so well done. We really like this builder too! Maybe someday….it had a theater room upstairs and an extra bedroom/bath beyond that balcony area. It was VERY open though…..maybe too open for us. But we will keep this builder in mind for a future home for sure! I love looking at houses 🙂

Hope you all have a blessed week!

xoxo Becky
