Cover Girl Review & $50 Drugstore.com Giveaway!

As women, we all want to feel good about ourselves, but sometimes we are also our own worst critics.  When I have a new outfit to wear, get my hair done, wear new makeup, or a pretty piece of jewelry, I automatically have this sense of “wow I think I look pretty darn good today!”  I don’t know why these things make me feel better, but they do.  I think it’s something men probably will never understand, but I also know my husband notices when I make an extra effort to look my best!

Terence & I just celebrated 10 years of marriage a couple months ago.  I know I don’t look the way I did when we first got married, but I still want my husband to think I’m beautiful.  I remember getting ready the morning of our anniversary date.  We were going to have the whole day together — kid free.  It was going to be just the two of us & I wanted him to look at me that day and think about what a beautiful bride he married.

He does notice the little things, like when I take extra time on myself.  Sometimes he comments when I fix my hair a certain way or wear a new outfit.  But, he always notices when I take the time to focus on my makeup.  And that in return makes me feel good inside.  Even though I am not that 20 year old wrinkle free gal anymore, I still feel confident and beautiful when I take time and try to look my best!

I recently had the opportunity to try the new COVERGIRL LashPerfection™ Mascara.  I love makeup as you all know!  I was so excited to try this product!  My husband’s favorite feature about me is my eyes.  So, I always like to play them up… particularly on special occasions.

*Micro-chambers create the appearance of instantly full lashes with up to 3x more volume
*Provides beautiful clump-free application in one step, which goes on smoothly & feels natural
*The bristles lift lashes for a precise, controlled application that won’t smudge or smear
*The polished, volumized look lasts all day without messy flaking
The lightweight, conditioning formula coats lashes from root to tip leaving them feeling soft and lifted.  The innovative brush structure contains tiny micro-chambers that instantly wrap your lashes 360 degrees, allowing more lash coverage.
Available in:
Very Black, Black, Black/Brown, & Brown
SRP**$5.99
As you can see, COVERGIRL LashPerfection worked wonderfully!  It lengthened, volumized, and went on silky smooth without clumping.  This mascara will definitely become a part of my morning routine, and at $5.99 it won’t break my budget either!

As the years go by, I not only want to look and feel better, but I want others to see that, too.  As women, we always want to put our best foot forward and have that inner confidence.  You don’t need makeup to have inner confidence… but, it might just give you that extra sparkle.  And when you have that confidence inside, others will notice, too.  Whether it’s a new outfit, hairdo, or glammed up makeup, the most important thing is that you feel good about yourself and live each moment to the fullest!

  1. I recently went to my high school reunion. While I usually do wear make-up on most days I made sure that I was dressed nicely and that my make-up was perfect. I had not worn make-up in high school (as it was all girls and we wore uniforms).
I wanted to feel good about myself too and this gave me the extra oomphf that I needed.

  2. Every day! Mascara is my favorite part of my make up routine. Using cg’s mascara in the purple tube now, love it!

  3. I don’t know if I’ve ever used makeup to add confidence (power from within ladies!), but I do love having long, dark sexy lashes to flash “the look” at my super cute hubs!

  4. Every day! My mother always told all four of us girls to never leave the house without make-up. She said it would make you feel better and more confident even when you didn’t feel that way. At 31 years, I totally still agree! Even if it’s just powder, gloss and mascara, it makes a huge difference! Having blonde, but super long lashes, I love to darken them and draw attention to them! And it always seems to catch my hubby’s attention when I bat them his way! 😉

  5. I was really shy about going to prom with my crush since I was a bit tomboyish but a glamorous makeover turned me into a princess for the night and the makeup was subtle yet stunning. I felt so completely beautiful!:)

  7. I am a mom to 7 month old twin boys, and time is scarce, but I try and find time to at least throw some mascara on daily.

  8. When I was a little girl I wore clear mascara, eye shadow and lip gloss to a dance recital. I thought I was the coolest girl there and I danced so great because I was all prettied up! I used to tell everyone it was b/c of my makeup!!

Now I’m sure all the little girls dance with tons of makeup, but back when I was little girls didn’t wear a ton of makeup.

I seriously thought I was all that. And clear mascara…haha! So funny!

  9. I definitely needed makeup when I went to a job fair a few weeks back. I stressed so much the night before that I hardly slept. The makeup made me look alive 🙂

  10. Working in an office environment is when make-up gave me the most confidence. Mascara is my favorite.

  18. After returning to the country from one year in Europe, I had to look for a job. I hadn’t worn make up while overseas but I decided to put on my professional face and head with confidence into those job interviews. I was lucky enough to find a temporary placement that lead to a permanent job in my field.
