Make Me Over Friday & Other Stuff

I am blessed to have hairy Brooke Shields eyebrows.  I try to tame them the best I can.  I also have really thick curly hair, sometimes I feel like an amazonian woman….I want laser hair removal surgery.  That business costs like $100 per square inch, that’s totally out of the question.  Also, who knows 10 years from now they’ll come out saying those lasers cause cancer or something….so I will just take my chances with plucking my brows for now…..
I found a great product to tame my hairy brows though!
I’ve been using this for the last 6 months & it works great + my brows stay in place all day!

Another great product I found just recently is Aveda Damage Remedy.  It instantly detangles and smooths my frizzy curly hair & I’ve really noticed a difference.  I bought this when I got my makeover at Indira!

It’s somehow become a nightly routine to stop by Braums for some yogurt and then take Connor to the park.  I know we are making great memories & he has SO much fun!  And we have fun watching him interact at the park playing, sliding, and swinging.  He certainly sleeps better after we go to the park 😉

He now slides down the BIG slide all by himself!
 My heart
Oh! I got this cute sunglasses case at Borders the other day on clearance for $6 bucks!
I love Paperchase products 🙂
I’m sure we’ll be doing lots more swinging this weekend!
This post was all over the place, but so am I these days!
Hope everyone has a great one!

Twilight Turtle Love

Connor got a Twilight Turtle the other day.  This is the cutest thing ever!  It lights up his entire room with a starry night sky.  I’ve talked about how much I love our Sleep Sheep.  We’ve used it since we brought Connor home from the hospital and we still use it every single night.  Cloud B has the most adorable products to help sooth your child and help them sleep better.

Here is Connor boy checking out Mr. Turtle :

 “Wow Momma!”

You can change the color of the sky to blue, green or amber
I know this will be another item we keep for years to come…….
Thank you Cloud B for our Twilight Turtle, we love it!
Sweet Dreams!

Our Love Story – Chapter One

Engagement Photo 2001
With our ten year anniversary approaching I wanted to recap how Terence and I met and share with you our little love story. I also want to write it all down so when I am old and decrepit I can look back at this blog and remember our love story via “The Notebook” style.

This is my point of view,Terence may be reading this and thinking “That’s not exactly how it happened!” But it’s how I remember it….and it’s my blog yo 😛

Fall 1999 – Freshmen in college

The cost of a gallon of gas was $1.22

Napster was all the rage

The Matrix & The Sixth Sense were top movies

Britney Spears & Shania Twain were at the peak of their careers

ICQ chat room was “the thing to do”

CHAPTER ONE :
Terence decided to go to college out of state and move to AR for his education. Bonnie and I attended a local Baptist college. My sister, Bonnie, liked to chitter chatter on the Internet long before Facebook & Twitter were even a glimmer in cyber land. She started talking to a guy who was a dorm mate of Terence’s in college. Bonnie and T’s dorm mate decided to meet up one night at Baskin Robbins. Just in case this person was a creepy serial killer….Bonnie brought along me and our friend Rachel.

Off we went to Baskin Robbins that night to meet these mystery guys. We pulled up in the parking lot & started chatting and eventually ended up at the recreation room on the college campus. We played video games, shot some pool, and talked. Terence hardly spoke two words to me. Honesty, I wasn’t interested at all, especially in someone wearing cowboy boots & an Aggies hat held together with electrical tape.

He wasn’t my type.

A few weeks passed after our meet up & life went on…then all of a sudden I started getting emails and chat messages from Terence. I didn’t know whether to respond or not.  Bonnie & I were actually trying to see if he was interested in our friend Rachel. He wasn’t. He was interested in me. Terence is a smooth talker, anyone will tell you this. Although I wasn’t interested I gave it a shot and slowly but surely started liking him more and more. We chatted and emailed for a couple of weeks….the emails eventually turned into phone calls….which led to me asking him “Hey you want to come over and watch a movie with me and my Mom?”

I lived at home during college so I thought he wouldn’t want to come to my parents’ house. Much to my surprise he said “YES!” I was excited and nervous at the thought of him coming over, but thought “What do I have to lose?” After all he doesn’t have family here and if nothing else he would have a friend in town. So that night I met up with Terence.

We watched a movie called “Romy & Michelle’s Highschool Reunion”, which I now know that he hated! LOL! My Mom eventually went to bed and left Terence and I alone to talk in the living room. We went to the computer and browsed around on the Internet for a bit….we talked all evening and flirted a lot! We both had school the next day and it was getting late….I really liked this guy, but it was obvious he was very shy, his words on the computer were much stronger than his actions in real life! Ha!

So I took matters into my own hands….leaned forward and gave him a long kiss goodnight…………

Our "Hotter than Heck" Weekend

As I mentioned in the title of this post it was “hotter than heck” this weekend.
Dear Lord, please bring us rain or a gust of wind or SOMETHING!  All my shirts have pit stains 🙁
Saturday Ter Bear gave me my new IPad 2 and I am loving it!  I am so nervous to take it out right now because I don’t have a case for it yet and the warranty hasn’t kicked in.  Any suggestions on a good protective case?  I need to get one ASAP!  There are so many great APS for kids on there too!
We had lunch at a place downtown Fort Worth called Paul’s Donuts Subs & Gyros.  Terence got a lamb gyro & I had a chicken one.  It was really good!  I love that cucumber sauce that comes on gyros 🙂
Getting ready to put the smack down on some grilled cheese
I love these windows outside Paul’s

My boys
We got Connor a BIG BEAR at Costco.  Grana had him at her house so we went and got him.  Connor’s been all over this thing all weekend!  This thing is HUGE!!!  It’s really soft and Connor just loves on it and bounces….it’s so cute to watch.
I took a few photos of Connor and “Big Bear”

Best $30 spent in my opinion….he loves this bear
This weekend was also our last weekend to volunteer in the church nursery.  We decided not to do another year because we want to get involved in other activities.  I got the cutest beanie hat for $7 on sale this weekend and can’t find it anywhere!  I have no idea where it’s at unless Connor has hidden it somewhere….I feel like I am losing stuff all the time now : /
Maybe I’m just losing my mind……
Well, hope you all had a great weekend!  XoXo Becky
