Coupon Queen

I watched the TLC show Extreme Couponing last night.  How else can I describe it but….EXTREME!  Those people are serious hoarders and I don’t care if it’s a good deal or even free because where am I going to store 52 bottles of mustard in my house!!!  The one thing I won’t do is buy stuff I don’t need just to have it around.  Craziness!
However, I do save an average of $8-$15 in coupons per grocery visit, which is well worth the $2 Sunday paper.  I’ve used the same coupon organizer for years and I was inspired to get a little more organized.  I do have difficulty finding coupons and I’ve always wanted to organize them better.  Today I bought a binder and some clear business card plastic inserts.  I believe the inserts were around $3 for a package of 10 sheets.
So here is my work in progress…..
This is what I had
I also printed off several coupons online 🙂
This magazine was a great resource!
Below are some links I found in the magazine to be helpful :

These are the coupon inserts
It’s a work in progress and I’m excited to save some $$$
But don’t expect me to have 95 bottles of Tide on my shelves anytime soon 😉
I really need to go deal with this MESSY boy!
I wonder if he even got any food in his mouth?
Momma???  Clean me!!!
Bye! Bye!
Tomorrow is Friday! Yeah!!!

  1. those people are kra-zay-zee!!! they definitely have a problem. they practically have their own grocery store at home. i’m all about a deal, but i don’t need 400 boxes of pasta! your little guy is so cute. does he have a diaper on? couldn’t tell. HA!! 🙂

  2. You’re such an overachiever ; ) Those people on that show are nuts, though! I mean it’s great by why do you need all that stuff if you don’t use it??

    And Connor = presh!

  3. Oh, he’s so darn cute.
A bunch of sites I follow were saying how ridiculous this is…
I just need 500 boxes of cereal in my master bedroom, lol. I do coupon and am annoyed about Krogers new policy but its thanks to these nutties who abuse the coupons..

  4. I didn’t watch that show…but I have seen other shows with the same topic….I can’t even imagine!!! Who needs that much stuff???? Im with you – if I save around $10 per trip with coupons I call it a successful trip! Thats about all I can manage 🙂

And those pics of Connor – so precious!!!!

  5. omg..i thought the same thing!!
if i got all that for free i would be donating it to homeless shelters and whatknot..sheesh!!

you are getting organized!! thanks for the coupon sites..all i have is coupons.com

  6. I’ve used coupons for YEARS. But I need to make a binder. I have an accordion file and it’s just too crowded.

  7. I didn’t watch the show but I’ve kinda fallen off the coupon wagon lately. With a full time job and everything else, I feel like coupons are the last thing I want to be worrying about.

Although if you can do it and keep that sweet boy happy and healthy, I guess I’m not trying hard enough, right?

  8. That binder is such a good idea, Becky!! I rarely use coupons but really need to try and remember them – saving just $10 could really help. And hello, I already have a full time job, I don’t need to add to it with crazy couponing!! lol..

Love the pics of Connor, he is too adorable!! 🙂

  9. I LOVE this!! I totally agree that a lot of the peeps on that show are complete hoarders. I’d love to use coupons to save on what we already buy but I don’t have the space (or desire) to have 70 bottles of mustard in my house. ha!

  10. I was totally impressed by those people. But, I’m with you, where in the world would I store all that stuff AND, will they ever use it all before it expires? I really liked the fact of donating to a Church or Food Bank.

I’ll admit, I suck when it comes to math, so I don’t think I would ever be able to succeed at the whole “Extreme” Coupon. But, your post had inspired me to try my best… work harder. Thanks for the links and I love this post!

    BTW, Connor looks adorable 🙂

  11. OMG, I loved this show! I got hooked soo quickly when it was on. I’ve never used coupons before (except on the odd occasion when somethings REEAALLY expensive), but it made me want to start straight away…went online and googled coupons, and I now have my own mini coupon organiser!
