Connor’s 1st Birthday

We’ve had a great weekend!  Connor’s 1st birthday party was yesterday and we had so much fun!  Thank the Lord my Mom and Dad were here to help…it’s been such a blessing!  We had lots of friends and family here to celebrate with us.  I took about a million pictures, it was hard to narrow down which ones to share but here are some of my favorites 🙂
 Almost time for cake!

Treat bags for the candy buffet

All the food was so good!  Thanks Mommy 🙂

Pizza dip is one of our favorites
Ingredients

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

1/4 teaspoon dried basil

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup pizza sauce

2 tablespoons chopped green bell pepper

2 ounces pepperoni sausage, chopped

Directions

1.In a small bowl, mix together the cream cheese, oregano, parsley, and basil.

2.Spread mixture in the bottom of a 9 inch pie plate, or a shallow microwave-safe dish. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup of the Parmesan cheese on top of the cream cheese mixture. Spread the pizza sauce over all. Sprinkle with remaining cheese, then top with green pepper, pepperoni and olive slices. Cover, and microwave for 5 minutes. Serve hot.

We asked everyone to bring their favorite book for Connor.  He got lots and LOTS of new books to read for his birthday!  Thank you everyone!!!

Aunt Bonnie and cousin Jarrett got to be there via Skype
We love you and wish you could have been here sister and Jarrett
 Cake time!

Connor did not like his cake at all!!! 🙁
I think the singing and the anticipation freaked him out a little bit.
We had a meltdown and then we were fine.

Thanks for coming to my party ya’ll!
Connor we love you so much and God has truly blessed us with your sweet life.
You will always be my baby boy no matter how many birthdays we celebrate over the years!
“OWL” ALWAYS LOVE YOU SWEET BOY!

  1. What a fantastic party! And what a big crowd!

I love that he freaked during cake time… I think all of my little cousins did that at their first birthdays as well! It’s all too much!

You did such a great job with the food and the decorations. Looks like a big success!

  2. Soo sooo cute! Looks like a great party! The cake was adorable as were all of your decorations. Can’t believe he is one already! Xoxoxo

  3. I’ll say it again… you really did a great job. I don’t think i’ve ever been to a child’s birthday party where it was this heavily themed. Everything looked awesome! Happy 1st Birthday to your little man. 🙂

  4. Wow becky! That looks amazing! All your hard work paid off. The owls are all super cute. It also looks like everyone had a genuinely good time. I hope you and T had a good time too.

    Well done!

  7. Wow!!!! You did an awesome job!!! Everything turned out so great – loved every detail 🙂 I am definitely going to refer back to this post to make sure I have everything covered for Cannon’s party….less than 3 weeks until his big day!?!?!?!

  8. Brayden hated his cake too! He loves it now though… they get over it fast 🙂

And I have to admit that reading this post made me a bit teary eyed… I feel like I JUST celebrated Brayden’s first birthday, and now he’s about to turn 2! And seeing Connor and the #1 makes me sad my baby Connor will be there before I know it 🙁

  9. Thanks for letting us go to Connor’s birthday party. YOU DID SUCH A GOOD JOB WITH THE DECORATIONS, BECKY!! I love the book idea, too!!!

  12. Hi Becky! Connor’s birthday was beyond adorable! Would love to share some pics of your adorable “Little Owl,” — as well as your talent, and any other resources you might have used — on the TTFT blog! (The cake, the tissue poms, the banners, the treat bag labels, and Conner’s little owl t-shirt were all soo sweet!!) I’m surer others would love to know how you pulled together this wonderful party!

  13. Chocolate soda!? I cannot decide if that sounds excellent or disgusting! o.O
Love all the little owls though, they are super cute. 🙂
