In The Land of Egg Nog

I used to not like eggnog, but over the years have developed a certain fondness to it this time of year. Just the smell reminds me of Christmas and I know it’s LOADED with lots of Paula Dean fat creamy goodness, but who cares! I say that now…because I am sporting quite a belly!
We’ll talk about that a few months from now when I am depressed because nothing in my closet fits anymore! LOL!

Clark & Uncle Eddie really like their eggnog (I think they had the spiked kind!)

And Godiva sells their eggnog truffles! Yum! I tried one the other day because I am a member of the Godiva Chocolate Rewards program and you get a free truffle a month!

And tonight I polished off a bowl of Braum’s eggnog ice cream….so good!

And let’s not forget the eggnog latte from Starbucks ya’ll! It’s my holiday fave!
What is your favorite holiday tasty treat or smell?
Peppermint, Gingerbread, Amaretto, Pine trees, Chocolate?

  1. I am allergic to chocolate… so most treats are out for me. But my mom still makes a cookie recipe of my Grandma’s that I look forward to every year… and Caramel Brulee or Gingerbread lattes from Starbucks. YUM!
I don’t think I’ve ever really had eggnog… but my goal this year is to try some!

  2. Love me some chocolate – very little have I met and not liked. But I have an appreciation for Egg Nog too – I’ve just never tried all of those items with that flavoring. I’m too wimpy to trade my traditional Starbucks drink of choice for something else – but if they served a sample – I’d check it out and probably fall in love.

  3. I love that movie!!! Just watched it tonight! 🙂 Also, I can handle just a little eggnog but it’s a bit too thick for me sometimes! I do need to try the eggnog latte from Starbucks though!

  4. Hysterical photo from Christmas Vacation. I love Eddie! The eggnog truffles sound yummy and I still have yet to try a Starbucks eggnog latte. I’ll have to do it this Christmas. Gingerbread and chocolate are 2 of my favorite holiday flavors. I love gingerbread lattes and hot chocolate!

  5. Mmm I love me some egg nog. I had an egg nog latte from Starbucks and it was good.

I love your placement of Christmas Vacation in your post. LOVE IT!

  6. Braums icecream is quite simply the best! We live right down the road from their farm, and it does NOT smell like eggnog icecream, ha! I think peppermint and cinnamon/clove smells remind me the most of Christmas.

  7. I feel so sad for the gal who is allergic to chocolate. 🙁

I love peppermint around the holidays. And, pine scent. That’s funny, though, because we have a fake tree so I just burn pine scented candles & use the plug-ins. So, I guess I like fake pine scent. Ha!

I’m meeting up with Lis from Lis Loves (http://lisloves.blogspot.com) later today for coffee so I’ll be sure to get an eggnog latte. I tried a sample of it weeks ago and it IS YUMMMMMMMY!

  8. Oh, I love eggnog, too! (But I can’t do the latte…the two tastes don’t fit together in my mouth for some reason.)
Bob’s Sweet Stripes are also a holiday fave.

  9. I love eggnog too! If you like holiday spices, you HAVE to try the Eggnog Chai Latte from Starbucks! It’s even yummier than the regular Eggnog Latte. If you really want to go crazy, ask for Gingerbread pumped into either of those lattes for some real Christmas yumminess! (I worked at Starbucks for awhile, which explains my extensive knowledge of interesting combos…)
