Television memories…

This week has gone by so fast. I guess it helps starting out the week on Tuesday! I am starting to miss my tv. Since Terence and I moved to Maumelle we haven’t had cable. Anyone who knows me knows that I was an HGTV/food network junkie! I get to hear all my friends and co-workers talk about what they watched on American Idol or Dancing with the Stars the night before and then suddenly I find myself out of the loop! And then I start to think geesh was that all I ever talked about too? TV? And then I think to myself tv really is over-rated. It’s amazing how much of your life you are missing when you are absorbed in the tube. I have seen Terence and I grow closer because we aren’t daily entrapped in what is going to be showing that evening….instead we plan our nights on what we can do for eachother and with eachother. Of course I don’t have time to think of tv much because I work the majority of the day! But I am glad that I find myself now days living for myself and not around the television. I thought I would miss it, but even some of the shows I thought I couldn’t live without have become a memory….and maybe someday I will get cable again…but I have promised myself (and for Terence) that I will never revolve my life around that big black BOX we call TV!!!

Let it snow….and ICE!!!

I had a wonderful three day weekend! Yeah! I came home Friday night ready to relax! On my way home I stopped by the grocery store and got some milk just in case the snow got too bad. That is just the thing to do in Arkansas, everyone spazzes out when they hear “winter weather advisory”….the shelves were picked clean! I got my milk and got outta there! Terence and I slept in Saturday morning and pretty much laid around all day watching movies. Then Saturday night we decided to rough it and get out for our late Valentine’s dinner at the Outback Steakhouse….most of the wait staff decided not to show up because of the weather, but we still had a lovely evening. Sunday morning I got up and made pancakes and bacon and it was sooo good! Then for lunch I made my great grandma Bonnie’s soup (cheesy potato carrot soup). My mom always used to make that when it was cold outside so I thought I would try, and it turned out so good! Today we got up and went shopping around town. Terence got a new coat for winter and it looks so good on him when he is all dressed up! Anyways, he had to get the sleeves taken up a little bit, so we took that in. Then we went to the mall and ate lunch and stopped in Dillard’s and I got a MAKEOVER at Chanel !!! It was so much fun and I got lots of new pretty makeup to wear….I am enclosing a picture of my new makeover….tell me what you think! My hair is not done so don’t look at that part! I will talk to everyone later and have a great week!

Fondue

Sara, Ellen, Bonnie and I get together every year to do Christmas usually around February or March. I know that sounds late, but that is usually the only time we can all get together! Anyway, Sara got me a fondue pot for Christmas…I must say I was a bit intimidated about what to do with it. I took it up to work last night at the bank and one of the other girls brought some fruit and chocolate to make in my new fondue pot. FYI- make sure you always add some sort of liquid with your chocolate/cheese mixture because if you don’t it will burn. And that is exactly what it did! But we all had fun making it anyways! Tonight Terence and I made cheesedip in it and it was sooo good! Now I must say…….I am quite fond of FONDUE!
P.S. Thank you Sara and Ellen (for the wonderful new makeup!)
